Hey Dynamix, seen ya today turn from musgrave st onto high st...

I was in the gf's lancer but :worship:

GTR looks very tidy..

That might have been me buddy, probly going to work or something like that, what colour is your gt-r, so far i've only seen a gun metal one belonging to an old guy i had a chat with for about an hour at autobahn and a beautful white one with gold centre bbs lm rims..

Mine is white with carbon bonnet. I got no licence for another 5 weeks but it'll be going down to benaraby drags this friday night. You should come down. Always a healthy turnout of imports. Welcome to cruise down with us but we're leaving at 5pm so we make it for scrutineering.

Here's a pic of mine...

ISR33 used to belong to a guy called dwain.

there is a vid of him and tyler ripping a skid side by side.

Saw the GTR bud, its looking good.

The old guy is probably glen nelson. That car is maintained like no other ive ever seen. He polished the whole exhaust on a hoist. goes hard too. It had R33 GTR rims right?

Greeat looking gt-r NoFX, if you ever wanna get rid or some parts for it, give me a buzz, i'm always keen to get stuff for mine.. Thanks for the invite too but i'll have to pass, got the mother in law coming up for a week to stay with us.. maybe some other time!

Granthem, it was the one with r33 gtr rims alright, was one of the cleanest r32s/skylines i've ver seen.. seems like a nice bloke too!

Yeah cheers mate. Still thinking about offing the cf bonnet. See how it goes when i get my licence back. If it starts attracting attention again i might have to.

Glen's gtr is so tidy. Always see him driving around when we go down the beach...

Amazing how big the car scene is in rocky for such a small town.

  • 3 weeks later...

hey guys, just got back from up north was in rocky last night only for the 1 night, was down at the criterion drinking with my mate and was watching all the cars cruising round. also saw granthem's 34 parked down near hj's. my mate showed me it. very nice and clean looking. i like it. also saw some chicks driving a maroon r33 and a silver 33 cruising round aswell. and a white gsr lancer, that crazy looking pink civic with chromies, and a green crx with full kit looked like ex hot 4's car. anyway none of you probably would have seen my car wasnt driving it round much whilst i was there, started drinking instead.

Yeah there is a surprising amount of skylines in rocky. Especially R33's.

Shoulda stayed til Sunday as we're having a cruise down to yeppoon sunday lunchtime...

Dynamix if ya keen, meeting at BP at 1pm and leaving 1:15 to head down the beach. All welcome and I think we'll have a few nice cars heading down including Granthem's R34, a type x 180, possibly a supra, pulsar turbo and a few others...

Shit, I would have been keen but I have the car in parts atm, got white faced el dials to install and a new 50mm tripple core radiator to put in, just waiting on f#cking parts to show up..

yeah unfortunately i couldnt stay, i was down in gladstone for the week but only drove up to visit a mate in rocky for the day/night.

saw granthem's 34 parked down near hj's. my mate showed me it. very nice and clean looking. i like it.

Cheers. Its parked there cause i work in the building next to hungrys. Sucks cause food is so close all the time.

Hopefully we can pull a bigish number to the proper cruise

Not many of the thousands of skylines in rocky seem to be on here though?

Yeah which just goes to show that the reason they own skylines is to look rad and pik up da chix fuly sik bro lolz.

Next one is 11th May. Not sure if my car is going to make it sadly, since it seems the gearbox may be f'd along with the 4WD... Might be in there a bit longer than I hoped.

Nah not sure who they are but there is a billion 33's in rocky... Not bad for a population of 60,000 :P

Next benaraby is Friday 23rd May. Scrutineering is 5pm-7pm; racing 6pm-10pm.

I should hopefully be at this one in 4WD FINALLY!!!!! So yeah mate come down check it out. Costs about 50$ to race including ya insurance. Just need a helmet(adr approved), long sleeve shirt, long pants and covered in shoes. Hope to see you there :P

Yeah mate try come down. I should be there if all goes to plan.

If ya not doing anything on the 18th May (sun week), we're having a beach cruise from Rocky to Yeppoon. I think a couple of guys from gladstone are coming hopefully. You're welcome to come along.

Here's my ride, had it since December 2006, put about 7000 kms on it in this time, including the trip from Townsville, did come from Mt Isa though. Pretty much came how is, except the genuine GTR wing, and the LED taillights so far, just been repairing mainly. Haven't really driven it that much since August last year when the seatbelts gave way, then the stereo came out to do custom boxing, hasn't happened yet. Now the control arm is gone in the front drivers, got it replaced, this one was stuffed too. Now its just sitting in the yard cuz i need a new battery.

It's the only one with the LED lights in town atm, there is another white series 2 with the same front bar, and a standard kitted series 2 white with sunroof...but i had to have both, if it didn't have the sunroof i was not interested, was looking at 34's but the were 27'000+ at the time. So i bought this 33 GTS-T 40TH anniversary.

Maybe you'll c it out one day but atm i'll be in the cream VL Commy :P

yeh seen your car fueling up at shell mate. Your right not too many have chosen the LED rear lights in town, chris's silver SII does have them though.

You wanted a sunroom that bad hey? everyone ive spoken to who has ever owned one never wanted another one again lol

Hmm never seen that one before. Looks nice man. I like that front bar. If you got nothing else to do, come down to the beach this sunday. Leaving from Northside BP at 1:30pm (meeting at 1pm, leaving by 1:30)

    • It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about. Reliability of everything in a 34 drops MASSIVELY above the 300kw mark. Keeping everything going great at beyond that value will cost ten times the $. Clutches become shit, gearboxes (and engines/bottom ends) become consumable, traction becomes crap. The good news is looking legalish/actually being legal is slighly under the 300kw mark. I would make the assumption you want to ditch the stock plenum too and want to go a front facing unit of some description due to the cross flow. Do the bends on a return flow hurt? Not really. A couple of bends do make a difference but not nearly as much in a forced induction situation. Add 1psi of boost to overcome it. Nobody has ever gone and done a track session monitoring IAT then done a different session on a different intercooler and monitored IAT to see the difference here. All of the benefits here are likely in the "My engine is a forged consumable that I drive once a year because it needs a rebuild every year which takes 9 months of the year to complete" territory. It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about with this car.
    • By "reverse flow", do you mean "return flow"? Being the IC having a return pipe back behind the bumper reo, or similar? If so... I am currently making ~250 rwkW on a Neo at ~17-18 psi. With a return flow. There's nothing to indicate that it is costing me a lot of power at this level, and I would be surprised if I could not push it harder. True, I have not measured pressure drop across it or IAT changes, but the car does not seem upset about it in any way. I won't be bothering to look into it unless it starts giving trouble or doesn't respond to boost increases when I next put it on the dyno. FWIW, it was tuned with the boost controller off, so achieving ~15-16 psi on the wastegate spring alone, and it is noticeably quicker with the boost controller on and yielding a couple of extra pounds. Hence why I think it is doing OK. So, no, I would not arbitrarily say that return flows are restrictive. Yes, they are certainly restrictive if you're aiming for higher power levels. But I also think that the happy place for a street car is <300 rwkW anyway, so I'm not going to be aiming for power levels that would require me to change the inlet pipework. My car looks very stock, even though everything is different. The turbo and inlet pipes all look stock and run in the stock locations, The airbox looks stock (apart from the inlet being opened up). The turbo looks stock, because it's in the stock location, is the stock housings and can't really be seen anyway. It makes enough power to be good to drive, but won't raise eyebrows if I ever f**k up enough for the cops to lift the bonnet.
    • There is a guy who said he can weld me piping without having to cut chassis, maybe I do that ? Or do I just go reverse flow but isn’t reverse flow very limited once again?
    • I haven’t yet cut the chassis, maybe I switch to a reverse flow. I’ve got the Intercooler mounted as I already had it but not cut yet. Might have to speak to an engineer
    • Yes that’s another issue, I always have a front mount, plus will be turbo plus intake will big hasstle. I’ve been told if it looks stock they’re fine with it by a couple others who have done it ahahaha.    I know @Kinkstaah said the stock gtt airbox is limiting but I might just have to do that to avoid a defect so it atleast looks legit. Or an enclosed pod so it’s hidden away and feed air from the snorkel and below Intercooler holes like kinstaah mentioned. Hmm what to do
