hey guys i need some major help...

(i posted this in mechanical but nobody is helpful at all) anyways... here goes:

every time i drive, EVERY TIME... whether it be slight acceleration to soft and/or hard braking AND when i go on soft bumps i hear this strange squeaking sound coming from my right hand side...

let me try to explain it a tiny bit better...

it's like a squeaking/squealing/whistling sound that is related to bumps in the road like also similar to when a tyre is flat but the flat tyre can be heard on a stand still...

this is only heard when car is in motion and has been like this for around a week now

i HAD an idea that it could be one of my air screw things because i only have 3 out of the 4 on my wheels so one of my wheels is missing the air screw thing (you know, the one you take off to pump air into the tyres) yeah and thought it was that, i changed it from the back to the front (still on the right hand side) and didn't notice a difference in the volume, in saying that i haven't changed it to the left but i don't think it could be that either...

it's also a similar sound to where your locknuts are loose and the further you drive the looser they get, they have that weird metal on metal scraping sound... i've checked my nuts, they seem to be quite tight (LOL that sounded quite funny but please keep the jokes to yourself) so i don't think it's them either...

ANYBODY have a theory they can throw at me?

i am just hoping it's not my suspension or my wheels as i suspect and that i just seriously don't want to find myself losing a wheel on the freeway or whatever during peak etc. well losing my wheel or having my car fall flat on its hole because of it...

any guidance would be insanely appreciated, i'm stressing here!

cheers,

Andrew

P.S: i have an unknown suspension setup, car was brought from japan basically as is, yet to find out what suspension it has... ta

Yeh, its something around there. Did you want to bring it over and I'll pull ur wheel off and have a look for you. I was thinking something along the lines or bearings or something. Altho I dont think Skylines have any grease nipples? Txt me if ur interested mate. I'll see what I can do.

no no, its a gerbal aint it Andrew...lol... such a funny word!!

Joo lost ya gerbal innit!!

BTW, ANYONE KNOW HOW TO DO TIMING ON 34... NEED IT DONE... FREE OF COURSE...LOL

Another thing that happened with my R33 was my intercooler piping was slightly touching the inside bit of the front bar at the bottom, where they had cut in order to fit it in the first place, so was making this sweaking sound while driving and when going over bumps etc, have you got an after market FMIC?

try playing with the little lock pins in the centre of ya wheel... i got it once, i was the only one that could hear it too... played with em, as in pulled them out and put em back in so they were tighter.... worked for me, spray a little crc, sweet as!!

    • Hi...so a "development" here aswell The swap is "done" and car went "test drive" BUT it seems the clutch(maybe gearbox?) is a little bit sad? I bought this clutch kit https://justjap.com/products/xtreme-heavy-duty-organic-clutch-flywheel-kit-nissan-skyline-r31-r32-r33-push-type "Problem" is that the first gear is hard to put into and it seems that the clutch is not disengaged. It was not the problem with the old clutch...(or like sometime the first gear would not get as easy specialy when the fluid was cold) So? Can it be like...bad "install" or is the clutch wrong ((it should not have been) i done research to get the right one) Or is this "normal" with new clutch and needs to be break in?
    • @Duncan I can try  and thanks i did not thought about VIN and part numbers for 33/34. @GTSBoy yeah it looks like iam gonna do that
    • Forgot to include this but this is the mid section of my steering rack that looks like it has a thread/can be turned with that notch mentioned in the post:
    • Hey everyone, Wanted to pick some brains about this issue I'm having with rebuilding my 33 rack (PN is 49001-19U05). All of the tutorials/videos I've seen online are either R34 or S Chassis racks which seem to be pretty straightforward to disassemble but this process doesnt carry over to my rack. Few of the key differences that I've noted The pinion shaft on the other racks bolt on with 3 torx bolts: Whereas my rack bolts on with 2 allen head bolts: These changes are pretty inconsequential but the main difference is how you pull the actual rack out of the housing. The other skyline/s chassis racks can be taken out by tapping the rack out of the body with a socket and it just slides right out. I'm unable to do that with my rack because there's a hard stop at the end that doesn't let the seal/shaft be tapped out. Can also see a difference in the other end of the rack where mine has a notch that looks like you're able to use a big wrench to unthread 2 halves of the rack whereas the other racks are just kinda set in with a punch. My rack: Other racks: TLDR; Wanted to know if anyone has rebuilt this specific model of steering rack for the R33 and if there were any steps to getting it done easier or if I should just give this to a professional to get done. Sorry if this post is a bit messy, first one I've done.
    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
