R32 Tail Light Tutorial

Just wondering if theres a tutorial on removing r32 tail lights and replacing with LED tails? Tried searching already.

You need to either heat or cut all the sealer gunk then there is, if I recall right, 6 screws holding the light on. Should come out once they're undone. And then there's a few more small screws holding the cover piece onto the light unit itself.

6 initial screws inside the boot you mean?

theres 5 or 6 8mm nuts on the inside of the boot, then a couple screws holding the tail light cover to the actual light.

i just carefully used a long flatblade screwdriver to pry the assembly from the sealant..

And does sealer need to be replaced when putting in the LED ones or is it pretty water tight anyway?

its a good idea to put some more sealant on there

last time i pulled them apart i kept getting water in there

Mine was fine without new sealant, but I'd advise putting some new stuff on if you cbf getting all the old gunk off.

Sealant should be used or chances are you will have water in your boot.

Sikaflex is the stuff to use. Can be bought from bunnings for a few bucks

Is it tubed like silicon, do i apply it with a silicon gun?

You don't want the hard setting one for taillights

It comes in a 365g cartridge for a squeeze gun.
