Hay guys, I have an rb25det that was rebuilt 25'000km ago. Have reciepts for work done and dyno sheet with 194.8rwkw on 12 psi with haltech. does not come with ecu but with standard loom. Have the head off at the moment 4 photos of under the head and cylinders showing hone marks. Just wondering what it is worth?

whats it rebuilt with? What was "rebuilt"?

Sorry, silly me forgot to give details. The bottom end and top end were rebuilt using Standard internals (used original pistons, standard bore size), new rings and bearings and mains fitted, crank grind, block decked, head pressure tested and shaved, new guides and valve stem seals, reseat and grind valves. New gasket kit. I may of missed a few things but everything was done. Will check my receipts when i get home and repost anything ive missed. Turbo wasnt touched as it was checked and didnt need rebuilding said the machine shop where all the work was done.

Well I don't think that is considered a "rebuild" as such.

It's more of a "freshen up". Depending on who buys it I don't think you will get more than $3,500.

Thanks i should of said reconditioned then. because rebuilt means with new pistons right?

It is open to interpretation I think :domokun:

But usually most people will refer to a rebuild as all new (usually performance) internals.

I am curious as to why you didn't do a full re-build on this engine as the labour would have cost a bit? Or were you in a tight spot and needed the vehicle back on the road?

Bit tight on cash and needed to get the car on the road, had it in a vl. I bought the engine from sss, when i bought it it had 40k on it so i just decided to use the original internals and just 4 my peice of mind i had all the work done so it was basicly starting from scratch, fresh. I had it sitting in my shed for 2 years b4 i had enough cash to do it and god knows how long it had been sitting at sss or on the docks in japan. Went well until the standard gearbox gave way. Way 2 much power 4 a vl box 2 handle. Then lost interest in the vl and decided to buy a stagea instead. AWD rocks

well what do you call it then??? cause its a rebuild he had to put new parts in it even if it isnt forgies and all that its still a rebuild at the end of the day

I would refer to it as a "freshen up" as per my previous post.

Either way it's better than a 120,000km old RB25 with 120psi across all cylinders.
