*flick*
temporary rego! It IS possible to rego a defected car - ive done it, and kye done it. Basically - go the the rego place at regency, take the rego form and defect papers with clearance signed and the date of your regency appointment. You will pay the normal rego fee and instead of the normal coloured rego sticker you get a temporary paper one that you stick to the window. It is valid UP UNTIL YOUR REGENCY DATE. Once you pass, take the clearance form and the temp sticker and they will swap it for a normal rego sticker. Dont let people say it can be done, it CAN. Saves paying a towing fee, day pass etc. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/225748-regency/#findComment-3976318 Share on other sites

Silhouette31
How long's the waiting list? My rego runs out in August, I was going to wait until I've fixed everything on my car and then make a booking, but that may be after my rego runs out. if the waiting list is over a month, i should make a booking now and hope i've fixed everything by the date, so i can still drive it there.. I needed more time tho. Alot of stuffing around to do. Didnt realise my rego was due to run out. stupid me. have you fixed what you got defected for ? If so you can take it to the police station and get it checked off and still drive around. you cant do this till you have booked for regency tho. JDM032
+1 for what flick said i done it before too. but you have to make sure that you speak to someone that knows what there doing or just speak to the manager if you get someone saying no it cant be registered while defected. Import S13
yeah it works, if you cant make the regency date go to the cop shop and get your permit signed again and then go to the rego office and they can extend your temp rego. As JDM032 said make sure you tell them what it is your after or get a manager, the ladies behind the desk at regency seem to have constant PMS anyways haha Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/225748-regency/#findComment-3981575 Share on other sites
