Sorry if this has already been covered.. I just can't seem to find it .. the filtering system on here isn't very good..

Just recently I had a minor accident in my R34GT25 NA... I bent the rear right control arm and since had that replaced and 4 new rims and tyres.. anyway the issue is that my brake light comes on and stays on when it is down and I'm already driving.. Sometimes it comes on and sometimes it doesn't.. for instance today I drove it and it came on and stayed on.. went to the shops and when I drove it home it was as normal.. the car still drives the same. and I've already checked the brake fluid.. that's fine.. there doesn't seem to be a leak.. so I'm not sure if it's the brake sensor or the drive train or something else..

Anyone have any ideas..

anna check your brake fluid reservior, you might find that you lost/ are losing some fluid as a result of a sick brake line after your "incident".

if its low, top it up with some dot3 fluid from anywhere, and see if it dissapears again. Or do it properly and take a wheel off to see if it drips from anywhere when you push the pedal

check your hand brake lever - there is the earth switch located on teh drivers side of them, check for an old turbo timer wire for the auto engine cutoff - it may be creating an earth which will turn on the light.

    • Does it also misfire equally when revving?   Josh is very correct in what you should do. The coilpack harness wiring loom itself is a known problem due to its age and the number of heat cycles it has gone through. Throwing parts at a vehicle to diagnose the issue isn't a smart or good way to do it. Secondly, you may have a bad coil pack, you pop replacements in, they fix that issue, but messing with the harness breaks it, so the issue persists. So now you think "well it wasn't the coil packs" and have to continue chasing your tail, potentially swapping back in your shit coil packs and returning the good ones (yes, I've seen people do this because 'it wasn't the problem' and they want to save money). And suddenly, you've got two issues with the same symptoms...   Diagnose, don't use the spare parts shotgun.
