Hi guys....been a while.....33 still going pretty strong...after nearly 3000 bux!....anyway...

I'm interested in this product......and what this advertiser is saying specifically about potential defects for uncovered pods.??

Two things.....

1) is this 'new law' true, and if so, when is it coming in?

2) Does this seem like good value?..Does it work?..I wouldn't be looking at the clear version so much as the plain black box version.

I understand the concept of seperating induction from heat sources as best as possible, but would this particular system actually help, or hinder?...My 'potential' set-up would be almost identical to the in-situ picture on that site.

Your comments would be very appreciated,

and thankyou for your time.

Mate they all do the same thing.

Some people just find the flashing led neon crap ones are more interesting.

In melb I believe the rule is pod or FMIC .. not both.

FYI people do anything to sell a product..

hey mate

im in syd and i believe the law here is that pod filters are defectable. ive had a few blokes that have done my pink slip tell me that its a defect but they just tell me to say i put it on after. i am planning on getting the box for my 33 (the black one, not the wank wank clear with neon lol) and i believe it would protect from hot air getting through the system.

i think you would have to make up maybe some flexible piping to get the cold air from the front bar to the box. shouldnt be hard and at least this way you keep ur ass covered if the same rule applies for melb.

hope this helps

Plastic is better than metal as it doesnt radiate heat.

I once saw a ingenious idea to run PVC pipes from front bar, then to a pot plant .. air goes in hole and directly into the filter looked like another stock part cant get much better than that ghetto mod.

Personally I use a metal box with stock snorkel with a clear lid.. In sydney pod filters are illegal unless boxed. In general they are illegal for noise.

I think most people toss up between plastic and metal pod sheilds all the time cos of the heat radiation side of things (after all we do want cold air), but the main point is that plastic can be just as bad as metal. Sure metal absorbs heat and doesnt disapate it as quick as plastic, but plastic really doesnt even prevent heat from going thru it. The most effective thing to do is go to clark rubber or summwhere and line the inside of your sheild\box with thin rubber or some sort of insulation. Looks crappy sometimes but i guarantee that pod air temps will be alot colder than the engine bay.

    • Yea got me coppers. Bad news is I just put them in and the car still has the light and shakes. I also noticed I hear like rattling coming from the exhaust piping right under me. Does 21 also have a possibility of being O2 sensors?   So, coil packs are good, the harness is good, the MAF is working, and obviously the spark plugs just replaced and working.
    • Make sure you drop the GTT base tune back in, and set your injectors again, this will remove anything playing up with it you may have removed. Possibly lean there as it's normally a fast transient going THROUGH atmospheric pressure, and a turbo motor would then quickly go richer as boost builds. The only worry you MIGHT have is ignition timing, as the DE is higher compression than the DET from memory. But again, you're not in boost, so the DE motor will be a lot more forgiving at atmospheric.   Get Murray, Kinkstahs, and Johnny's input on tuning haltechs, those guys have played with tuning enough in the past to be able to help now you're past the trouble shooting stage of the MAP issue
    • @Rusty NutshI mate. Do you have a pinout diagram for the na neo auto ecu?
    • Yeah thats the plan now. 🤞
    • Have a chat with the tuner, you'd want to drive the car straight there.
