Carnt Write In New Post Or Pm Get About 2 Sec 2 Write Something Then Goes Blank

Hey guys,

What i had to do to post this was as soon as i go to make a new post it gives me about 2 seconds to write then the post box goes blue and can not write in it.

So i had to just push a few key get some text in the box before it closed then once i put the heading in posted it and used the edit button to write this.

Sounds like a browser issue, are you using Firefox by any chance with some plugins loaded? I'm thinking something like Adblock or NoScript that might remove or disable content. Have you tried a different browser and, if so, do you have the same problem? If not, disable all your addons then re-enable them one by one until you get the problem again. If/when you find it, you can either leave it disabled, or try to work out why it's doing what it's doing, you might have a bad filter in AdBlock for example.

Also if you have access to more than one computer (one at *cough* work for example) and don't have the issue there, it's likely to be a setting somewhere on your PC rather than an issue with your account

I tried fire fox google chrome and explorer same deal, I can still post on NS and other forums just SAU im having trouble with. I will try stuffing round with it and get back to you

internet security software, such as Norton Internet Security used to cause issues all the time.

The thing is i can get on NS and do evrything fin on there.

internet security software might be disabling the field for some reason though............

do you have or have you checked it.

ps. holding the alt key down when doing a screen shot will only screen shot the window that is selected

Hmm could be im not sure what security we use here at work. Is it possible to stuff round with the internet security in the tools drop down??

Else where its fine just here at work and other work PC's, its just here that does it all other forums are ok.

How would i go about finding any info about the problem with the connection here??

Talk to the propeller heads where you work and give em curry about it.

Its either one of the following

1. PC level... ie I.E/PC Security setting/Anti-virus setting etc etc

2. Server/Proxy level... ie Mimesweeper or other blockers/filters and so on.

Its 110% not SAU if you can post from home fine.

Just tried at tafe and still no good getting the same will try at home agian but not looking good

Tools --> internet options --> advanced --> click on restore defualts.

I tried at home and all good must be a setting or the net security here and at work. any ideas?

Same thing happened to me, as a temp fix.. hit the stop button as soon as the page loads and you'll be able to post but it wont allow you to upload pics.

Hi Guys,

I still carnt get this problem fixed and now i carnt even get onto SAU from my work PC. I got incontact with our IT department and they sau its an issue with one of the host i have 2 pics that they think where the problem is.

this is the web path that it takes from my work PC

This is what it should look like he thinks

He thinks is a problem with the host “atlas.cogentco.com” taking to long.

Could someone please have a look at this to see if it can be fixed.

170ms is just because its in the US

Thats a fairly normal ping/hop to the US

Mine looks pretty similar to be honest and i dont have a problem.

Also - remove the first two entries dude, it gives out your direct IP, not very smart/safe

Well it doesnt fix the issue i kept getting told its the other persons problem and no one can fix it so i carnt get on at work at all.
