Does Anyone Get Done Of " Fail To Stop At Yellow Light "at The Intersection ?

Recommended Posts

Also look into insurance... its something like 30%(24.something) of accidents are simple rear ender - no brains - not paying attention accidents.

Safest option of course in future is be mindfull of running yellows =P

Just pay the fine, trust me..no magistrate is going to dismiss police testimony to accomodate you regardless.

There's the way things should be..and the way things are.

A reality lesson that can be hard to learn..

Lodge a written objection with the superintendant of traffic in your area, if you feel you have a case..then pay the fine.

Unsure about this......a mate took a hooning charge to Court and won. Officer could not prove beyond reasonable doubt that the accused was in fact "hooning". His defense was basically that the road was wet (hence wheelspin) and he did not see the car next to him that was trying to race him.

A bit related to this topic, I was on Mains road yesterday, saw a cop a couple of lanes over a few cars distance at least behind, so as usual take it easy and don't do anything that will get attenion.

On approach to the intersection a couple of car lengths away from the line, the light turns yellow. I kept going, but without obviously accellarating through.

Now the police car that was a few lanes over and few cars behind, also makes it through the intersection, must have barely nipped through before red, if not on red from what I could see/tell in my rear view. Later on he also changes lanes without indicating.

A bit of one-sidedness? I think it's ridiculous how some people get targetted 99% of the time for being safe than sorry on a yellow light when I see those sort of things.

Think about these points and what others have said, the only fines I have ever recieved are parking fines and my last speeding ticket was for 70 in a 60 zone when both myself and the officers knew I was doing over 100 but as they had no gun and no clear sight of me they could not enforce what speed they knew I was doing!

how did you end up with a ticket if there was no speed gun on you? I hope you didnt admit it to them?

They got me on my wording of my response.

I said, "I couldn't possibly have been doing more than 65 if you count in error of speedo." BAM ticket for <10 over limit.

Better than losing my license though, I happily paid the $75 it was back in the day.

    • Hello Liam - HA - somewhere in flies - possibly I have an update, but I have been so busy, projects have taken a back seat to getting business back on track.  I will let you know the outcome, but I think I am going to go for the 8HP,  CHEERS.  ELVIS
    • Thanks Joshuaho96, yes - as someone else also suggested, the 8HP seems the 'smart choice' - HA - and ZERO to do with cost, but I am sure 8 speeds will be better than 6 speeds - HA - maybe.  I will purchase a new 8HP,  Thanks.  ELVIS.
    • Nobody said anything about getting a "...cheap Falcon box..."- it was JUST a question about a specific transmission.  And YOU may have a problem with not enough $ - HA - I do NOT - so please keep your comments like you are some financial guru to yourself.  BUT - much appreciated re the cost of a new 8HP and I twill probably be the way I go.  Thanks.  ELVIS.
    • Most people I know in the BMW world are swapping 6HPs for 8HPs. The 6HP has a big issue with one of the clutch drum bushings wearing out shockingly early which leads to them going into limp mode going into 5th/6th gear as the oil pressure loss from the worn bushing causes clutch slip. Even with the adaptations in shifting the TCU can't bump line pressure enough to keep the clutches from slipping and burning. I've personally looked at a 335d with 6HP28 with one owner and ~90k miles on it and the transmission adaptations were way out of spec and even though it nominally drove ok I'm confident it would have needed a full rebuild sooner than later. Other than that they're fine, but the 8HP doesn't really have weird issues like this to my knowledge and they're in everything these days so pulling them out of crashed cars isn't too hard.
    • There is an ABS pump and a few solenoids. You could trigger the front/rear solenoids with a pressure bleeder attached with a Consult 2.
