What is the point of resetting you ECU.

I read that if you disconnect you battery, then hold you foot on the brake for a few miniutes (supposed to get rid of any residual voltage) it resets the ECU. Sounds a bit dodge to me!

Just wondering what the benifits of this might be if it does anything at all.

Hi Pekatu,

Thats what everybody seems to be saying, I havent tried it yet, but you disconnect the battery and pump the brake (or leave it disconnected fo 24 HR) And then reconnect..

Now you give the car a bit of a thrashing, so the ECU will "learn" your driving style and adjust the timing.. Making it a bit quicker/smoother??

There is already a thread on this topic, out of the people that have tried - Some say they can notice a reasonable difference, others can tell no change...
