Knowing the RB25 comp ratio probably won't help you much.

What pistons and gasket thickness are you going to be using?

gasket i haven't worked out, same with pistons, i was going to keep the standard ones, i want my compression to be around the 8.5 - 8.8 mark, only really want to run 12psi boost. I know i can get that with a smaller turbo but if plans ever change down the line i can alway squeeze more from that turbo rather than buying a new one.

I really need another engine stand, bloody vq is hogging the other one

What's the point of going a dirty 30 if you aren't going to do it properly?

Cast pistons and 12psi on a 35 will net you around 300-320rwhp. Nothing that can't be done on a stock 25 with less mucking around.

true, but i want to muck around, i have been wanting to build one for a long time now, i have a spare good running rb30e here, and i got a 25 head cheap, so why not?

yer true, i could go forged pistons, but thats another $1000 - $2000 for pistons then i might aswell replace the rods. If i dropped a 25 into it i would be following much the same process with the mods. Plus there is too many rb25 r31's around. R31's need 30 love

i dunno never watched it fully, think i fell asleep...

in other news, monday morning will be fun, testing a car for a misfire at 6500rpm on the icb anyone? i'll get the boss to drive it

    • LOL, "they said it might be slippery"..... 30 seconds in your off, 60 seconds in white twin backs into the corner That new track looks good, and the Datsun was chopping cars quite nicely
    • I'll get one of these also just for giggles
    • I bought 6 new spark plugs to compare readings. They will be here tomorrow and ill see if meter is far off if it all. I know one is at least reading 0 so its best replace all anyway if one is bad, from experience. I still have to test the harness just to be sure its not a double issue and I waste my time haha-the old plugs are iridium I always thought those lasted more than 50,000 km.
    • If you take the top half of the intake off you can unbolt the flap off the shaft and leave the shaft in there blocking the hole. Then you can remove the little vacuum canister off from under the manifold and get a spare vacuum line to run to the ECU. I can take some photos of it later. Probably best to get the vacuum source to the ECU sorted first though. Mine all worked mint with the base map from the GTT an I've pretty much let the closed loop sort the fueling and took 1 degree out of the whole timing map.
