So I sat at home, waiting for Telstra to once again come out and fix up the bollocking they did to the phone line. "We'll be there between 10 & 2" so I've been here, all day... waiting. I call them up at 5 past 2 to ask what's happening and they say "No that's booked in for the 23rd, not the 22nd". So awesome that they booked it in for the 23rd and told me 22nd. It's just lucky I don't have a job to go to!!!!

martin did you end up buying rascovs car?

No, If you followed the thread properly you would know this

I was trying to organise to go and look at it on the weekend, but it was proving difficult because it was at his fathers place (past d1ckswich), and because he already had another bloke interested (another guy from the 31 club, lol). In the end I offered to come look at it sunday and bring cash + car trailer with me, so then he rang the other guy and it seems he's committed to buying it. So I miss out :D

I like this idea better than cardboard <3

Group Buy?

I'd be in for a group buy. Can you make an Emily one too? And a Molly?

What naked plan did you pick? I had a look at them but they all look like shit plans.

You don't ask much do you? Spose I'd better throw a Grace one in the mix too...

I'm on the $60 one. Its $10 dearer than the equivalent non-naked plan, but remember you DON'T PAY LINE RENTAL ($30). Install fee is a bit dearer, but you come out ahead after a couple of months. Only catch is, you need to have an active phone line (on telsta infrastructure) when you sign up, otherwise you have to pay about $200 to connect then disconnect one (I think I managed to avoid this by transferring my account from st lucia to petrie, thus avoiding all connection and disconnection fees). They haven't charged me any fees that I've noticed anyway...

This picture won't load at work. Hopefully that means its good enough to get blocked by the filter, and I'll get to look at it when I get home

    • If you take the top half of the intake off you can unbolt the flap off the shaft and leave the shaft in there blocking the hole. Then you can remove the little vacuum canister off from under the manifold and get a spare vacuum line to run to the ECU. I can take some photos of it later. Probably best to get the vacuum source to the ECU sorted first though. Mine all worked mint with the base map from the GTT an I've pretty much let the closed loop sort the fueling and took 1 degree out of the whole timing map.
    • This IS something you also have to configure in Haltech (or at least I did in the past when going from onboard-to-ECU map sensor and an external MAP sensor in haltech land).
    • I'm hoping it's something as simple as the ECU is looking for an external MAP sensor, but he is trying to use the onboard MAP sensor.
    • You won't need to do that if your happy to learn to tune it yourself. You 100% do not need to do that. It is not part of the learning process. It's not like driving on track and 'finding the limit by stepping over the limit'. You should not ever accidently blow up an engine and you should have setup the ECU's engine protection to save you from yourself while you are learning anyway. Plenty of us have tuned their own cars, myself included. We still come here for advice/guidance/new ideas etc.  What have you been doing so far to learn how to tune?
    • Put the ECU's MAP line in your mouth. Blow as hard as you can. You should be able to see about 10 kPa, maybe 15 kPa positive pressure. Suck on it. You should be able to generate a decent vacuum to about the same level also. Note that this is only ~2 psi either way. If the MAP is reading -5 psi all the time, ignition on, engine running or not, driving around or not, then it is severely f**ked. Also, you SHOULD NOT BE DRIVING IT WITHOUT A LOAD REFERENCE. You will break the engine. Badly.
