Shh, Thristan will get upset.

Is everyone still doing "winter" ice cream?

Thristan will understand

We're there every week you should come and play cars with us Josh

Morning Mangs

Morning

Also a good use of duct tape

That's what she said

The jailbait is there regardless of temperature...

I wanted to play something else with Josh...

I'll come this week if Thristan is still driving me

Sick

Can I wear a scarf if I come?

I'd be disappointed if you didn't accessorise Josh

cheaper option: Duct tape a hose to the trumpet(s)

I had thought about it TBH... will it recirculate well enough to not blow shit up though? or well enough to not cause random stalls making me look like an L or P plater?

Definitely.

If your hose is big enough (that's what she said)

yeah, but does it vent as much through the 'trumpet' as it would through a recirc hose/pipe? Or does it only vent a portion of what a recirc BOV would vent back into the pipe work, and send the rest back to the turbo? I don't really know how atmo valves work to be honest...

afaik, they work exactly the same, just an atmo one dumps the air to atmosphere (usually, but not always, via a trumpet of some sort) while a recirc one runs a hose to dump the air back into the intake.

Guess there's only one way to find out if it'll work then.

Bingo. We recently had to turn Annas atmo bov to plumbed back and all it required was the right size hydraulic hose (bendy and built to take pressure) and some hose clamps. We tried other hose but it kept getting holes blown in it

    • I'll get one of these also just for giggles
    • I bought 6 new spark plugs to compare readings. They will be here tomorrow and ill see if meter is far off if it all. I know one is at least reading 0 so its best replace all anyway if one is bad, from experience. I still have to test the harness just to be sure its not a double issue and I waste my time haha-the old plugs are iridium I always thought those lasted more than 50,000 km.
    • If you take the top half of the intake off you can unbolt the flap off the shaft and leave the shaft in there blocking the hole. Then you can remove the little vacuum canister off from under the manifold and get a spare vacuum line to run to the ECU. I can take some photos of it later. Probably best to get the vacuum source to the ECU sorted first though. Mine all worked mint with the base map from the GTT an I've pretty much let the closed loop sort the fueling and took 1 degree out of the whole timing map.
    • This IS something you also have to configure in Haltech (or at least I did in the past when going from onboard-to-ECU map sensor and an external MAP sensor in haltech land).
    • I'm hoping it's something as simple as the ECU is looking for an external MAP sensor, but he is trying to use the onboard MAP sensor.
