Im in Sydney both of those dates.:)

Well done with those letters, well written so hopefully people will perk up to it.

Write to Today Tonight or ACA about it. That would make for interesting TV.

Yeah why not should be good for shits and giggles.

Which Wed (21st or 28th) ?

That's what he's asking. What will people prefer/go to.

I'll change my preference to next wed (28) because i may still be a bit sick this wed

next wed it is the 28 im in for that

But then again so do these ones:

Nobody had these ones for me to try :D

The incredibly hot chick @ sunglass hut said I should get the plastic ones, but then wouldn't give me her phone number (even when I had them on) so her opinion is no longer relevant.

They are that cheap on eGay I might get one set of the wires and one of the plastics...

sunglasses

I think Straight Jackets look like sunglasses lebs or terrorists should be wearing and they make white guys look like roid munching asswanks.

I'm not a big fan of the new Minutes, I really liked the old ones though. My vote goes for the Square Whiskers still.

I should get new rubber for my Juliets and wear them again.

Hahaha john i do have a set of Straight jackets..... are you saying im a terrorist? You've got it all wrong though, white boys that look like roid munching asswanks only buy them in white.

An interesting opinion, because I think they are the only two models in the current plastic range that don't look like completely overdone arse-wankery.

Exhibit A, Juliet:

What's with the gay bit sticking out in the corner? FFS, they would be good if not for that. Same deal with the pennys, except they are even worse.

Exhibit B, Jawbone:

What wanker would be seen in those?

Exhibit C, all the rapper/gangsta spec big square shit things:

And all the other models that fit that category too...

And then the half frame ones, I can't stand any of them:

Straight jacket and minute seem to be the only sensible ones left. Agreed though, old minute was much better (as was old straight jacket).

I think I'll definitely get a set of the square whiskers, although I'll sleep on it and decide tomorrow. May get a set of minutes as well for the odd occasion I have to do something sport-like :P

You are a terrorist. And yeah any plastic sunnies in white definitely makes you a cocknugget roidhead

That's where the screw is to hold the lens in. It's stronger having it there instead of being the same one that the arms swivel on.

They're probably the most comfortable sunglasses I've ever owned too :P

The Pennys are smaller than the Juliets that might be why it looks more odd to you?

Edited by Isola

yeah, i've officially re-assesed them, since they are metal and that knob is functional, I like them :P

a little on the pricey side though :) EDIT: And none with black lenses without going "custom" (uleh)

looking on ebay now...

    • @Haggerty this is your red flag. In MAP based ECU's the Manifold pressure X RPM calculation is how the engine knows it is actually...running/going through ANY load. You are confusing the term 'base map' with your base VE/Fuel table. When most people say 'base map' they mean the stock entire tune shipped with the ECU, hopefully aimed at a specific car/setup to use as a base for beginning to tune your specific car. Haltech has a lot of documentation (or at least they used to, I expect it to be better now). Read it voraciously.
    • I saw you mention this earlier and it raised a red flag, but I couldn't believe it was real. Yes, the vacuum signal should vary. It is the one and only load signal from the engine to the ECU, and it MUST vary. It is either not connected or is badly f**ked up in some way.
    • @Haggerty you still haven't answered my question.  Many things you are saying do not make sense for someone who can tune, yet I would not expect someone who cannot tune to be playing with the things in the ECU that you are.  This process would be a lot quicker to figure out if we can remove user error from the equation.
    • If as it's stalling, the fuel pressure rises, it's saying there's less vacuum in the intake manifold. This is pretty typical of an engine that is slowing down.   While typically is agree it sounds fuel related, it really sounds fuel/air mixture related. Since the whole system has been refurbished, including injectors, pump, etc, it's likely we've altered how well the system is delivering fuel. If someone before you has messed with the IACV because it needed fiddling with as the fuel system was dieing out, we need to readjust it back. Getting things back to factory spec everywhere, is what's going to help the entire system. So if it idles at 400rpm with no IACV, that needs raising. Getting factory air flow back to normal will help us get everything back in spec, and likely help chase down any other issues. Back on IACV, if the base idle (no IACV plugged in) is too far out, it's a lot harder for the ECU to control idle. The IACV duty cycle causes non linear variations in reality. When I've tuned the idle valves in the past, you need to keep it in a relatively narrow window on aftermarket ecus to stop them doing wild dances. It also means if your base idle is too low, the valve needs to open too much, and then the smallest % change ends up being a huge variation.
    • I guess one thing that might be wrong is the manifold pressure.  It is a constant -5.9 and never moves even under 100% throttle and load.  I would expect it to atleast go to 0 correct?  It's doing this with the OEM MAP as well as the ECU vacuum sensor. When trying to tune the base map under load the crosshairs only climb vertically with RPM, but always in the -5.9 column.
