Hi all,

I was searching the internet for car parts and this website came up: www.performance-wise.com. So I took a look through this website and I thought that some of the parts are pretty cheap compared to say Nengun, Greenline etc... Another bonus is that it appears that they have their own warehouse in Japan where they actually stock parts, so I thought this was convenient for when other companies dont have it in stock, or the actual company in Japan does not have them either... (I did not think this was even possible)

Anway as an example, I recently sent an enquiry to CRD, Just Jap, RMS motorparts, ISC-Performance & Slide about an Apexi Power FC Boost Control kit for an R34 GT-R and they all said that they didnt have it in stock. For the other people/companies that get their parts directly from the parts company in Japan (Jesse Streeter, Nengun, Greenline etc) they said that Apexi did not have it in stock and that they didnt know when the next batch will be coming (what the?). So I emailed performance-wise and they said they have them in stock at their warehouse in Japan, at a pretty good price too.

So just curious but has anyone here ever purchased any parts from these guys? Are they for real?

Cheers,

    • Yea - I mean I've seen my fuel pump which is decades old and uh, while I'm not saying this with real knowledge... but I sure get the ick at using anything in the fuel system that produced the state of that pump. Many years ago I went through multiple pumps (and strainers) before I dropped the tank to clean it out with extreme violence. I'm talking the car would do maybe 50km before coming to a halt, which resulted in me cleaning out the filter with some brake cleaner and going on my way. None of my stuff ever looked like what came out of your fuel tank. I don't think I'd be happy with it unless every single component was replaced (or at least checked/cleaned/confirmed to be clean here).

    • Agreed, and in particular the earth strap that should go from the subframe to the chassis but it often broken or left off. There is a section in the R32 workshop manual you can follow for troubleshooting if you don't see anything suspicious, and depending where you are (there is no location on your user profile) you should be able to get your hands on a second hand replacement unit still if needed
