Can't seem to find anyone that makes an exhaust system for an N/A R34. I'm after extractors, headers, hi flow cat and a cat back exhaust/muffler? Does anyone know who makes one? I've looked all over the forums but can't seem to find any info so any info would be really appreciated. Thanks, Jack

DKNE in Australia also do extractors for N/A Skylines. Coby extractors would be the way to go at the moment if you're prepared to wait as there's a group buy in the works. Custom would hardly be worth the dollars given that you can get them from DKNE or Partsco for a lot less.

Cara (MISSR34) was taking interest for the purchase of her custom extractors.

I go into exhaust places and all I get is, oh we don't know how to do your car, we can't get your extractors, this and that blah blah, its really frustrating me at the moment thats why I wanted to know if anyone knows somewhere in melbourne.

So absolutely noone makes a system, and I have to get one custom built?

Edited by Jack-

Anyone can do a custom catback system for your car.

Just get the Coby Extractors from Partsco or DKNE Extractors.

As far as buying a catback exhaust goes, you're not going to have a lot of luck with aftermarket off-the-shelf systems, at least not without spending more than it's worth.

Hi jack ...

Simple exhaust setup for your car is as follows

Coby D12 extractors from www.partsco.com (they are in NZ but they ship to aus ) I just payed $306 delivered to my workshop for a set of mandrel bent extractors 6 into 2 into 1 with 2.5" outlet

Get a 2.5" highflow cat

Then get a 2.5" catback turbo style off the shelf system

Thats probbably the cheapest way to go

DKNE extractors go for $480 in Aus so I found it cheaper to get the COBY ones from NZ delivered to me for $306

yeah mate i agree with everyone else's contributions. I have DKNE's and also they make the r34 adaptor onto a skyline designed exhaust which is important because they make extractors with a 4 bolt set up like this:

O O

O O

Stock set up is just two

O O

they design the adapter to go on any r34 designed exhaust. If you go to a shop they just cut the bolt holes of a inch up on the pipe and weld.

I have a r33 so Kakimoto do a 2.5" system but i've never seen aftermarket r34 systems.

Thanks a lot really helpful man, also, do I need to worry about headers or what?

i would recomend DKNE.com.

pretty sure they have a cat back system, well they do for a 33, a little pricey but it may be a last resort.

most exhaust places should be able to make a decent system up for u. if they say wat they told u, then they obviusly dont want ur business or know nothing about exhausts.

i dont no victoria, but im sure theres somethin there,

let us no how u get on

Found a place thanks to Al on here, they're going to make me a 2 1/4" system, just need to purchase extractors from DKNE. Do I really need the heat proof coating from them or just the standard extractors? Is it worth the extra $300?

    • So could it be assumed it has been installed intentionally with potentially a power FC boost controller kit?
    • Had my rig on Matt's dyno at PITS the other day. After a few years between tunes I added a few sensors and swapped intercoolers. Result. 553hp at 26psi. Not bad for an FJ20 that was built in 2007. The problem.. It filled the overflow bottle on hard runs which leads me to believe the head gasket isn't sealing. I have a coolant pressure sensor which was reading cap pressure at 22psi and occasionally overrunning to 23/24 psi on deceleration after a pull. It was not spiking. It has arp2000 head studs and a cometic gasket. As its been 18 years in service, I pulled the engine out and head off. Everything looks good but we obviously have an issue. Where I'm at.. Years ago I had the same issue, I checked the stud tension and they were all over the place. Some at 60 to 70 and some up near 90. I nipped them all to 100ft lbs and this stopped the water push until now. I believe this compromised the gasket back then. What do I do? 2 options are..  1) I bought arp 625+s, which I could put in with a new gasket. Thinking Kameari this time, reassemble and try again. 2) strip the block, get fire rings machined in with copper gasket and try that. I do not want to push it more than 28 to 30psi. I think the turbo will be out by then anyway. (G30-770). My other concern is the long term ability of a copper head gasket. Are they streetable for years? I feel like a new gasket with the new studs will probably suffice, but I don't know. Any thoughts welcome and advice on copper gaskets and fire rings. Thanks!
    • I'm a fan of the JZX110, and the Aristo. Big cruiser cars, and with the factory cars, super comfortable and feel like you're driving an armchair! And the JZ motors are a pretty nice engine too, especially with some basic mods.   The import process, and the need to be able to trust people, and the fact there's so many scammers around is what ever puts me off wanting to go through that ordeal!
    • I don't care for these at all, but at least the underside looks straight and not rusty. A good basis for a long life. Many cars from Japan have been lifted with forklifts and f**ked almost irrepairably.
    • Yes, but it's not dumb or dodgy. You can build a perfectly good boost controller from a pressure reg, a relief valve (looks same same as a reg if all from Norgren or SMC, for example) and a check valve. I ran one for years. Only superceded with  EBC because I could get one for cheaps and wanted finer control.   THis mod is certainly not a sketchy boost mod, provided the boost is kept below the "spin to death" threshold of the turbos.
