R33 Power Windows Only Work When Engine Is Running

Hey all, I recently bought an R33 Skyline and one thing I've noticed is that the power windows only work when the car is running, as opposed to when it's just on accessories. This seemed odd to me as most other cars that have power windows that iv'e been in still let you operate them on accessories.

So basically I was just wondering if this is something that might have been slightly incorrectly wired when something like the turbo timer went in, or something to that effect? Or whether R33s were just wired that way to start with.

Cheers

Ben

My S2 R33's windows work when the car is switched to on, but not ACC. None of the cars i have ever owned had the windows work when only on ACC.

Do you windows work when key is to ON without engine running, or just when the engine is running?

only car ive ever been in thats different is my friends VR comondoor  which gave you about 15 seconds after turning the car off to close them.

ive only owned my car for a few weeks, it gets me every time LOL

Ahh thanks guys, I could have sworn that the other cars I tried were set to "ACC" and were still allowing me to use the windows, but it must have been when they were set to "ON", as I just went out to test the windows again on my Skyline then and it worked exactly as described - windows working when engine off, but set to "ON".

Sorry about the confusion there, but thanks for the help!

Hehe this is one thing I've appreciated about the turbo timer, a few times already I've been driving around with the windows rolled down, stopped somewhere and taken the keys from the ignition only to realise the windows were still down... :) but thankfully with the engine still running for a brief period it is just enough to get them back up before it cuts out!
