If you accelerate to fast from traffic lights you can be fined for hooning. Its all at the officers discretion really

Annnd... That's what is wrong with the 'HOONING' (so called) Laws.... It's up to the 'discretion' of an untrained, bias individual with absolutely zero requirment or burden for proof/evidence to make a conviction.

Police are untrained to identify speed correctly (without a calibrated tool), bias towards racking up as many trafic infringments as possible (especially imports/younger drivers) and hold the unchecked/governed power to take your car/licence on a whim...

i forgot about you, up'd my turbo to a T51r..........................SPL MF!!!! made just under 600rwkw on med boost. oh and i drive an r34 gtr now. sooooo where you wanna meet for slips hero :whoops: ...?

Look tool bag, no one cares... go back to the NSW thread or high school. Why are you in the Tassie thread?

Justin.

    • Most people I know in the BMW world are swapping 6HPs for 8HPs. The 6HP has a big issue with one of the clutch drum bushings wearing out shockingly early which leads to them going into limp mode going into 5th/6th gear as the oil pressure loss from the worn bushing causes clutch slip. Even with the adaptations in shifting the TCU can't bump line pressure enough to keep the clutches from slipping and burning. I've personally looked at a 335d with 6HP28 with one owner and ~90k miles on it and the transmission adaptations were way out of spec and even though it nominally drove ok I'm confident it would have needed a full rebuild sooner than later. Other than that they're fine, but the 8HP doesn't really have weird issues like this to my knowledge and they're in everything these days so pulling them out of crashed cars isn't too hard.
    • There is an ABS pump and a few solenoids. You could trigger the front/rear solenoids with a pressure bleeder attached with a Consult 2.
    • I love saying Samsonas lol. Maybe it's because I secretly want one, but also don't want to sell a kidney.
    • My budget has already blown way out but I've got most of the big-ticket items out of the way haha I just got the box back from the shop, got them to inspect it and install one of those refresh kits with all new syncros and bearings so should feel much nicer. But yeah if there's a weak point it'll be the gearbox, I'm gonna roll with it for now and hope it holds together. Do have an Xtreme organic sprung twinplate clutch to go in so if/when the box lets go I'll be back open for suggestions haha
    • Dose salivating at the prospect of being able to recommend a gearbox upgrade!
