Hey all,

I'm in a bit of a pickle and after tireless searching I still can't find the answer (maybe my searching skills suck). The missus has a 2005 V35 and the front right caliper is weeping a bit (it has a legit 25,000km so how that happened beats me).

1. Are non-Brembo calipers in all V35s the same? I've been told the Series II calipers are larger.

2. Where can I buy a caliper seal/rebuilt kit from for a 2005 V35?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Will

I can only tell you that series 1 & series 2 rotors sizes are different, but I can't tell if calipers is the same or not.

Non brembo V35 series 1

front rotors = 296mm od (same as 350Z touring)

rear rotors = 292mm od (same as 350Z touring)

Non brembo V35 series 2

front rotors = 320mm od (same as 350Z 17" update model)

rear rotors = 308mm od (was told 350Z 17" update model rotors won't fit because ADM 350Z used 190mm handbrake shoe while V35 S2 uses 170mm handbrake shoe?)

Ah, thanks - seems confusing!

Anyone know about the caliper size?

Pretty sure the s2 V35 has a different Front caliper to the s1 V35 Non-Brembo and the 350z Touring.

Coz a while ago my mech ordered some pads for my 05 Coupe that were apparently for the 350z Touring/s1 V35 Non-Brembo, but had to send the front pads back because they didn't fit (I think he said the pads were quite a bit too small).

I have attached a chapter on the Braking system from the S2 G/V35 Workshop manual I found on G35Driver.com that might help you, if you haven't found it in your searching already.

If you get stuck for the rebuilt kit you could always try emailing Riverside Infiniti to ask whether they have a rebuild kit suitable for your car. They've helped me with a few qns about the unusual brakes on the s2 V35's.

Thank you sir. I think they are different as well. And if USDM G35s received the larger/different calipers, I assume the S2 V35s did as well.

I'll contact Riverside Infinit. Thanks man.

    • Yeah, plenty of air flow, there is a dedicated path that feeds the air in to the OEM intake tube behind the bumper As for a "tangible effect", maybe, but getting the pod/intake air out of the hot engine bay is worth it psychologically to me, even if it gives no performance difference, so the tangible effect in my Lizard brain saysss yessss  In the end, to me a tangible effect isn't always about performance, sometimes it a sound or a look, or even a...... feeling  Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga
    • yeah first and reverse is where you will find clutch release issues (whether hydraulic or mechanical) because the difference in revs required is the highest there; particularly changing down from 2nd to 1st when still moving. To be clearer though, it is possible that the clutch release bearing is the wrong height. This is less likely than a hydraulic issue but it is not unheard of when you are mixing and matching

    • Hi all, Restoring r33 series 1 rb25det. All the heater hoses were on their way out, have replaced them and put it all back together. After testing I noticed a small leak from behind the head on the actual metal water line to the turbo when cars warm. I tried running a longer hose over it but it kept leaking...   I am about to take the (stock) manifold off again😔 to change the water line does any one have any lines they recommend? I was looking at Aeroflow Turbo Oil & Water Line Set but not sure what everyone else recommends. Car is completely stock but want to upgrade turbo eventually. it looks like ill have to disconnect a lot just to replace these lines so if there's anything else recommended to do please let me know. Thank you in advance!
