Hey guys, i have been having issues with my gtr it seems to pull slightly to the left, even after wheel alignment etc apparently there isnt enough adjustment to stop it and will need more. my steering wheel also is slightly turned to the left most of the time but u will be driving along down the road then the car will start to track towards the right all of a sudden then straighten it self then to the left again. i have removed the hicas so it cant be that, i have been told by a few people who have looked at it that inside the steering rack, the valving etc can be stuffed causing it to fight against the driver, which i can feel through the wheel when driving. feels like an hydraulic style turn of the wheel like power steering.

If you let go of the wheel whilst driving along it will pull to the left mostly but then turn it self towards the right all of a sudden the go back straight again. it does this regularly.

any other hints on what to check before getting rack rebuilt? has anybody had a simlar problem?

Cheers

Hey mate, if you're around the redcliffe area, i'd recommend Frawley's Engine Reconditioning. Don't let the name fool you. He also does reconditioning on power steering racks. He also does exchanges too if he's got one sitting there that is. He does a good job and we send all our steering racks to him to do.

His address is 28a Grice St Clontarf QLD 4019. Phone (07) 3284 3224

Good luck and I hope this helps
