Sizes of external wastegates

Hi guys, thanks to all those that responded, I have over 40 real world examples to compare the formula with. The results....

1. In 62% of the cases it perfectly predicted the right size wastegate as per the sample that you provided.

2. In 24% of the cases it predicted halfway between 2 sizes. So if you wanted response go the smaller, if you wanted headroom go the larger.

That means 86% of the time the formula gave a perfectly workable wastegate size. That's better than guessing or simply buying the biggest one you can find.

I will shortly get back to the guys in the other 14% and ask them why they went for that size wastegate and whether they have noticed any undesirable side effects. It may be that they have in fact got the wrong size wastegate and the formula may in fact be correct more than 86% of the time.
