I have been quoted anywhere from $700 - $1055 for a genuine item. Apparently they dont make an aftermarket one....have i been told :bs!: ?

Does anyone know what other pumps woulf fit / work (ie rb20/25)??

I know the rb26 one would with an adapter. How come its only $600 compared to the others??

Who can i ring to help me out with my oil pump problem??

Hi, there are 2 sizes of oil pump drive on RB crankshafts, the early has smaller drive lugs on the crankshaft and the oil pump is correspondingly smaller in ID to fit the lugs. The oil pumps are interchangeable between RB20/25/26/30 as far as fitting the block is concerned.

The later models have larger diameter crankshaft lugs and the oil pump is correspondingly larger in ID to fit the lugs. You can fit a late model pump on an early model crank by using an adaptor ring (smaller ID to fit the crank and larger OD to fit the pump).

My experience has been the RB20's and 30's are all early model (smaller lugs) cranks, as are R32 and R33 S1 RB25's and RB26's. S11 R33's and all R34's appear to have larger diameter lugs.

On RB30's we use early (small diameter lug) RB26 oil pumps. Next step up is an N1 oil pump (same flow, higher pressure) and then you move into the aftermarket area (higher flow and higher pressure). Armed with the above knowledge, shop around, the prices vary a lot.

Hope that helps

Hi Joel, just make sure it is in good condition, check the internal clearances carefully. You can use a stronger spring in the pressure relief valve, this will increase the oil pressure, but not the flow. You can go up 10% easily. This is what an N1 pump has, basically a higher spring rate.

Hope that helps some more
