Head Bee Guy
Hi guys Thought I'd introduce myself before bursting on the scene with queries and questions. I'm Andrew I live down the good old mornington penisula in victoria, I have been following this forum for a few months now and there is masses of invaluable information I am soaking up and very knowledgable crew here. So to business, and yes its another what to buy thread. I have previously owned a stock 97 R33 gtst which I very much loved, although was an auto, which was involved in an unfortunate event, so i am stuck driving my MX6 around. I am looking in the next few months at buying a new skyline but could use some extra advice on the topic. It will be my daily drive except when the weather permits the use of the Bike and i have a few ideas in mind. Originally I was thinking of just getting another R33 but thought if I save a bit and sell the MX6 I can stretch my budget and was contemplating an R33 GTR thought suggestions? Is it worth going a GTR at around the $22000 mark? or should I stick with a rb25det engine car and mod it a little. I had also considered a TT Supra but they mostly appear to be very old and not great condition especially for the price on some of them Also what is the average maintanence costs of the GTR, because it worris me if something goes wrong it will be expense to fix. Thanks. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/340118-intro-and-not-another-what-to-buy-topic/ Share on other sites
Ten Four
I wuv my supra. Seriously though, go GTR and you'll wonder how you can live without one.... $22k could get a pretty decent stockie (as always, get it inspected). Cost - same as anything else... Service every 5k with good oil... Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/340118-intro-and-not-another-what-to-buy-topic/#findComment-5492801 Share on other sites
Head Bee Guy
Thanks guys and special thanks to Jiffo who i cant reply to. I am aware the GTRs have a lot of systems and i like that idea but at the same time i dont want the car to be that much of a pain in the arse. Also i forgot to mention, I'm not the greatest technical guy and while i will learn for the most part i wont be working on the car, mainly cause i dont want to break it. But i have taken it on bored and guess i may be looking for a solid GTS-T or GTT as a base and go from there.
