Copied from my post at OCAU.

I'll start off by saying this Vietnam mod (that's what it feels like) is OK.

Lacks for weapons and vehicles. Lacks the available variety in troops or are the VC and ARV (?) $6 later?

Maps are uninspired, some choke points as if they made the flamethrower first and then realised all their open map ideas made it useless. Only the textures and flimsy walls differentiate the maps from regular BC2. BC2 has maps with more jungle, the map that is specifically mentioned as being heavy jungle in the voice over is conveniently napalmed. The mist-ish effect is to help mask the lack of actual jungle.

WTF agent orange bombs?

As a Vietnam mod the OpFlash version was better and that was a free mod made by some guy.

All in all I'll probably get some stars, get some badges and then GTFO. If you haven't bought it maybe don't.

P.S. lulz at "Jeff.p" you enormous hypocrite, did poorly and accused people of hacking then aimbots, you're a disgrace.

haha I did actually think of the OpFlash mod, the single player campaign in it was damn near farking impossible though!

I've only had a chance to play it briefly, but +1 on chokepoints, and wankers using flamer all the time, but its otherwise not bad.

needs moar open maps tbh

Surely you jest. All the maps are open. They have these retarded cap points then open nothingness then another clusterfuck.

Very few people use the flamerthrower from the few hours I've played, mostly because it blows goats. Vietnam era flamethrowers actually, you know, throw flames. The in game ones are lucky to have a range of 3m.

Have you noticed how all the weapons are basically the shit ones from BC2?

Where the fuck is the M113?

flamers are awesome around cap points lulz

like I said, haven't had time to give it a good playthrough, and M113 would have been nice, M16 seemed underpowered for what it was, same with the M14; it really seems to favour those who have already leveled up in BC2.

Hopefully they will keep on improving it, but until then it's still the best vietnam game I've played apart from Seal Team and the abovementioned OpFlash mod

    • Am I correct in assuming that the R35's are getting the classic skyline haircut off the odometer?  Quick search on carsales, there are 33 08 and 09 GTR's for sale, only 2 of them have more then 100,000km's on them (116,075 and 110,000 respectively).  And somehow there are about 25 for sale with around 60,000kms? Looks like the classic skyline haircut to me =/
    • @Stringycheese  Have you only gone to the one blue slip workshop?  There will be a heap of them where ever you live, good odds that the next place you go to will pass the car.  Unfortunately (or fortunately?) every blue slip / engineering workshop will be different and will be happy passing or failing different things - despite working from the same set of rules. It's kinda like 2 lawyers arguing over a piece of legislation, each saying their interpretation is correct. Might seem strange that this happens when it comes to getting a modified car passed, but this is very much a thing. A big part of the game is finding an engineer / workshop that is on the same page as you.
    • Bah. I daily mine. ~60km per work day, 10-12 thousand km per year. What's the point of having a dirty old Datto and leaving it in the shed. It needs to be driven and enjoyed while the govco allows us to do so. It will only be a few years before we're forbidden to even start up internal combustion engines.
    • Judging by that spring perch and the normal looking spring on it - not a coilover. Well.... it is a coilover, just a stock format coilover, rather than what everyone calls a coilover.
    • Yes it is. We get stock from Nismo directly. I'm happy to take photos/video of it as proof before I ship it with timestamps or whathaveyou.
