Squeaky Sound From Top Of Front Strut

Hey all - quick question in regards to suspension

If this has been covered, please show me the way

My front left strut has got a decent squeak whenever it hits any sort of bump, or rolls off the drive way, over speed bumps etc etc.

Ive stuck me head down close to the wheel and got someone to push down on the car and the noise is diffenatly coming from the top of the strut. would it be a bush of some sort that is worn/split?

Im taking it to pedders for that $14 check (but hoping they won't find too much thats wrong with it), just thought i'd see if you guys had any recommendations first.

Maybe your 15+ year old suspension is not doing it's job properly anymore?

had exactly the same issue, upper control arm bushes were shot

yeah, can't really complain, the suspension has lasted 10 or so years of australian roads hahaha

so might be worth getting all bushes replaced you reckon? or just control arms upper and lower for now?

hard to know what needs replacing over the internet.. but yer changing all the bushes can be quite expensive, see what flogged then go from there.

if its coming from the top of the strut its most likely upper control arm, if the bushes are worn it will sometimes cause the upper control arm to rub against the chassis and hence the noise- rubber bushes don't get noisy

then again chances are your 10 year old shocks are probably shot, so might be worth looking at upgrading the suspension while you're at it

i replaced mine with urethane ones, only Superpro makes them, they were noisy for a good couple of monthes and the noise just left afterwards

1. Mine did that too but dad just sprayed WD40 in it and it stopped!
