Noob From Melbourne...just Bought Myself An R34 Gtt (Auto)...love It, Any Hints Would Be Much Appreciated

Recommended Posts

Hey guys/girls, the name is Alex, I'm from Melbourne, just got an r34 gtt 1 month ago and have already realised that its an expensive addiction...it took me 29 years but I finally got one, any help or hints along this skyline windy road will be much appreciated.

Cheers

Hi Alex,

I have had an R34 GTt sedan, auto, for several years. Great car.

For your car, I would suggest a major service, unless it came with a good service history. Included in that service should be the following;

1. Engine oil and filter change. I use synthetic.

2. Transmision fluid change. I use Nulon synthetic.

3. Check air filter. Mine had an aftermarket foam filter which was not oiled and was allowing some dust to pass through.

4. Change power steering fluid. Use the synthetic automatic transmission fluid.

5. Change brake fluid.

6. Change timing belt.. I changed mine at about 55,000 klms. It was loose and had surface cracks (over ten years old).

I would suggest changing at 100,000 klms or 5 years, whichever comes first.

If your car is the first series, the oil and air filters are the same as a VL Commodore.

Hope this is of some help.

Geoff.

Thanx for the reply mate, just chaned my oil (Royal purple fully synthetic 10W-40), bout HKS super hybrid air filter, regarding major service, just had it done before she came into my hands in the land of the rising sun (has metallic sticker on air box stating at which K's she had it done), bought it off Global vehicles in Fawkner who did a minor service on it, oil fluids etc., all the belts still have writing on them and look new so I hope for now I'm set lol...anything else u can think of?

    • Hey. Very valuable information about pitwork, I will pay attention when buying any consumable parts 🙏 As for the carpets - I got a handful of information from nengun, from which it appears that indeed the carpets for the driver's side are OEM. They are not able to show me any pictures due to the long chain of different sales entities but after I place the order, as soon as the goods arrive at the nengun warehouse from which they will send the shipment to me they can send me photos and if my purchase differs from OEM I can immediately return it / cancel the purchase. I think I will give it a try 😉. Of course i'll let you know what's what as soon as i get them P.s. I know the topic is not relevant to the thread, but both nengun and amayama have these SICK 😍 trunk room lamps available. Do you know anyone who ordered them? I need to have one in my car
