Hi All,

My name is Brad. Thought I would copy this little intro from the ACT Member's Rides thread.

Been frequenting the SAU forums for the past few months, until I finally registered as a member when I decided that I would take the plunge and get a Skyline of my own!

It took me about 2 months or so of searching, enquiring and inspecting many different R34s from all around ACT and NSW before I eventually came to own my "almost perfect" R34 GT-T.

I have had it for a couple of weeks now but haven't got around to posting on here till now...

2001 Model - Series 2

Pearl White

85,000 kms - not sure if genuine, but great condition leads me to believe it may be.

Manual

Factory Sunroof!

Basically 100% stock standard except for HKS Turbo timer and rear adjustable control arms and bushings (which I had installed).

Came with 20" rims on it and a spare set of 100% brand new stock rims which I have put on as I was not a fan of the 20s. (will hopefully be selling them)

Note the number plates which I am stoked about! Just got lucky when I had to transfer rego.

Current plans for it are:

Remove stock solenoid and install manual boost control+boost gauge - as I think it might be overboosting...

Turbo back exhaust - Stock one is a little too quiet/restrictive.

Decent panel filter for intake

Black/dark grey 18" TE37 style rims - can't justify the cost for legit Rays TE37!

Then ECU + Tune once I've got it to a stage I'm pretty happy with.

Possibly thinking of changing the front bar but still undecided as it is really starting to grow on me.

Will be doing little details here and there, but basically just full "stage 1" mods and then I'll see from there. Just have to get back on top of money now after spending so much just to get it! ;)

The R34 GTR has always been a dream car of mine, and since I cannot afford to shell out for the "real thing" I settled for the next best!

I am on SAU pretty much everyday and look forward to getting involved in the Skylines Australia community!

Very nice looking car mate, well done.

Kind of have to agree with the below, if its really want you want, put money towards that instead of pouring it into this... Having said that, your planned mods arent crazy.

Welcome!

welcome.

dont mod the car, put in savings for the 34gtr.

wish i done that.

i would own one by now.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys.

Already been seeing a few different Skylines around Canberra and getting/giving a friendly wave.

Also went to the SAU Nationals in Goulburn the other week, had a chat to a few people.

Seems to be a great community of people on here!

Haha yeah that might have been me.

Had to move the car since I had been parked elsewhere (next to a Supra) for a couple of hours and had tyres chalked.

Was pretty busy so I was lucky to get a park so close to the show.

Had some amazing cars there... got my friend hooked on Skylines too now after he saw some of the GTRs there lol.

    • That still isn't a lot to go on. I don't have a Y50 Fuga Head Unit wiring diagram. I can say that a lot of nissans of that age shared head unit plugs, so if you are in Australia something like this would probably help: https://aerpro.com/app091# You plug that into the car loom, then either plug the head unit ISO into that (if it has ISO), or you buy and ISO adapter harness that you wire in. Bit of stuffing around, but once you have ISO its easy to change things in future.
    • It is a kunfine Android screen . Does anyone know the wirering diagram of the fuga ??
    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
