  • 2 weeks later...

For clarifications! one harness for the driver side and another one can be used for the passenger side, not two for driver and another two for passanger.

After a SAU member brought to my intention in regards of harnesses validaty after the year stated on the harness, I decided to do more research to clarify what I know w/ respect to the Cams Rules & Regulations and FIA interpretation. In addition, I've contacted two professional national track participants, and they also confirmed what I am going to share w/ you shortly. Furthermore, I surfacely touched the ADRPG rules regarding the harnesses requirements on the tracks. At the end of the day, all sites I visited refer back to the Cams rules.

Briefly, Takata has stated on the harnesses I have "Not Valid after 2010." Based on the Cams rules, the harnesses are still good for use in any events (except of international ones) until 31st of Dec 2015 but after being inspected by event organisers/inpectors. The inspectors usually look for worn harnesses, damaged latches, etc... As long as the harnesses are not torn, not damaged, have working latches, all stitches there, etc..., the harnesses are good to go for the event.

Even after 31st of Dec 2015, you still can use them outside of the track for your show car if you like.

I am attaching a couple of documents to show you what I found in Cams and also from other sites. In these documents, I've circled and underlined key points of the matter. You can also look into it as well if interested and let me know if I missed anything.

As I said before, the harnesses were hardly used, not brand new, genuine, and they do not show any signs of wear, tear, damage, etc... If you want to buy a brand-new genuine Takata harnesses (dated 2015 and above), expect to spend around $600 dollars or more for each set.

Hope this clarifies it.

Thanks,

Lou

Got tired of accepting offers and then people do not bother responding. If you are not up to it, please do not waste my time. Thanks.

Should have an accurate description of what is being recieved. Not waiting

for an offer to be made then adding "by the way these wont be included".

Also after checking progress of recent sales, accuracy of other item descriptions (misleading information on Recaro seats) and previous sales history Im no longer confident in transferring funds. I cant be the only trader with these views, evidence being the difficulty you are having selling items and constant questions of authenticity.

Please do not waste my time. Thanks

    • Hi, I have a r32 gtr transmission. Does any of you guys have an idea how much power it will hold with the billet center plate and stock gearset? At what power level and use did yours brake with or without billet plate? Thanks, Oystein Lovik
    • Saw this replica police car based on a Mitsubishi Starion XX parked next to a 'police box' (it's literally a box) in Hirohata, Himeji City in Hyogo prefecture the other day. It's owned by Morii-san who is a local Mitsubishi Starion enthusiast. According to a local radio station blog post, he always wanted to make a police car himself based on ones he saw in his favourite Manga comics.  As it's illegal to modify a car to look like a police car and drive on the road, Morii-san tried many times to get permission from Aboshi police station headquarters nearby. They refused initially by after they got tired of that they granted him permission. However, the car can only be displayed on private property and obviously can't be registered as long as the police livery is present. The car was completed at a cost of 1.5 million yen (US$ 10,000) in addition to the car cost. A location was chosen outside Hirohata Police box where the car can easily been seen from the street. Morii-san has two other Starion road cars, both widebody GSR-VRs.
