G'day guys,

I sent an email before I saw this section.

Just curious about the protocol for posting threads in the Classified section, and whether or not the seller should detete the thread once the item is sold. There seems to be an awful lot of threads that have sold written at the top, and many that have been sold that don't make mention of the fact.

There's currently 21 pages of ads, and I bet with a clean up it could be reduced down to around 16. Also, I've seen a few duplicate ads.

As I said, just curious, not trying to stir up trouble...

So nine people have looked at it but no-one's humoured me with a response.

I'll respond to myself...

Good question Sozman, I've often wondered that myself! I too get frustrated wading through all these ads when stuff is already sold. It particularly annoys me when I get all excited about something and want to buy it only to learn that it sold three weeks ago! Then close your post!!!

I guess common sense is not that common...

Thanks for replying Christian.

If people want to kick tyres let them get a Trading Post. Rather than worrying about what things were worth back then, look around now. Cross reference with Firesport or JMS if you want going rates for items.

Pricing is governed by the market. If you have an item for sale that's 'worth' $700 which you need to sell it promptly, I'm the only interested party and I offer $500, then to me it's only worth $500. If we agree on the sale, from then on that item is officially worth $500 at a good price.

Sorry, prattling ceased.

May I suggest clearing finished posts after three months? That way people can view what was sold for at what price for a period that is valid. Any longer and it could no longer be relevant.

Thanks again for responding.

Adrian

Hey Sozman,

We dont delete them because it gives people an idea of whats available at what prices if they are just curious.

Does that help?

Christian

    • Hey all, a little help from the Stagea hive mind plz.. I'm days away from buying either a 2002 Stagea 250tRS AR-X Four, premium leather, power seats and all the old switches etc that go with it, or a 2002 Stagea 250tRS VR-X Four AERO, pov pack, cloth seats etc, with coil overs, sports zorst, comes with original zorst and suspension and parts. (I think I've got the models right?) Both are VQ25DET, have 160000kms, both straight no rust both with $2000+ in recent servicing receipts, both ride on aftermarket 18" rims. The Aero has a replaced turbo as well. I like the cool factor of the Aero car but the AR-X has never been modified. Neither have been driven hardly at all in the last 5 years. Any thoughts on which one or does it come down to personal preference? davemoto
    • Please let me know if anyone has seen my black Nissan Skyline 350GT-8 taken from Robe Terrace, Medindie, SA suspect taken between end of March to early April 2025! Have called impound yards & tow truck operators, no where to be found while I was away overseas! Plates DXPRS1 custom dark green on yellow back. Has a rear lip boot spoiler on the back as well.
