I have for sale;

Year / Month: 1989/02

Make: Mazda

Model: RX7

Series: 4/5 (not sure which)

Transmission: Manual

Body: Coupe

Location: Hobart, Tas

Price: $8500

It is the 13B turbocharged variant. Attached is the original auction invoice from over 12 years ago. Since this time, car has travelled at most 100klms. That is correct – it has not been complied, registered, or used before.

In 2008, it received a comprehensive service from Griffiths Autos in Moonah, and was then parked back under a tree where it has sat the past 6 years.

In 2014 (June), it received an ever more comprehensive service, all up it will be costing me close to $3000.

Whilst there are some photos of the car taken when it was first purchased (2002, lol), it now has larger chrome 17’s, and bodykit / aero mirrors. It does however have minor panel damage (scratches mainly, but paint work is sh**e).

Unlike other 25+ year old RX7’s which have been owned locally and somehow claim to have accumulated only 70K on the clock, this one has legitimate mileage (after all, has not been driven more than half of its life).

This will suit one of three purposes;

  1. Someone who wants to do up an old rotor in their choice of colour, rather than having to pay extra for good paint that they are going to spray over. So if you want Ford Acid Rain, this may be the go...
  2. Someone who is, knows or has access to paint and panel facilities – and can do the job cheaper than the $2500-3000 I have been quoted
  3. Someone who intends to just track the car, and has no need for nice paintwork, etc

If not gone in the next week or two, I will be spraying it myself, and car will probably end up a dark bronze, similar to its current factory colour.

I can certainly arrange for compliance and registration in Tassie. The car only needs the reverse light switch mechanism, and then is good to go.

I would consider swaps for either of the following only (with cash adjustment your way as required);

  • Toyota Supra GZ TT auto (prefer aerotop)
  • Modern (2005 or newer), small automatic buzzbox, in good or better condition

    • @Murray_Calavera iam just considering options 🙂 of course it is very expensive so that why i ask here 🙂  @joshuaho96 I looked at that GCG hybrid(i remember looking at it few weeks before) So this is "that" hybrid where i send them my turbo and they upgrade the inside to Garrett stuff and then they send it back. It cost around 1200-1300 USD which is FAR cheaper than the HKS and it is what iam looking for(i just do not have experience like this...to send something off to "upgrade" ) @tylink720 that is like 150 USD turbo no? 😄 I dont think i have the "ease on my mind" with this kind of turbo. I just put over 7000k USD to "LINK" up my engine...dont want to blow it up with cheap turbo 😄     EDIT: https://www.cj-motor.com/gcg-turbo-charger-for-nissan-rb20det-rb25det-high?srsltid=AfmBOooVeOZ6CZ6r1AIv5m-KPaa6BvudIPJTY8LW78khkd-gQlsaCht9 I looked at this and it seems ok? It is that CGC hybrid and it costs around 1250 USD (with back shipping). Do any of you have experience with this hybrid on NEO turbo? I quickly look thru the forum/web and it seems very good.

    • It's funny, as Ive seen plenty of people use them in cheap builds on YT. And they actually go okay, even though a lot of other maxspeedingrods stuff is terrible. Those turbos seem reliable enough, the only part being, a good quality turbo that is "identical" to it, will out perform it day in and day out. In both a lower boost threshold, and the ability to flow more air at the same boost pressure. As a cheap cheap replacement, not a terrible choice. For cheap and shouldn't blow in a day, not terrible (like other eBay/Temu turbos) for low cost and still decent performance, that's where the question comes in to play from the results I've seen. I'd actually find it hilarious to buy one, and strap it to a paddock basher or some other cheap as POS originally NA car, and send it to the moon!
