as an alternative to regular bonnet pins, the XA/XB falcon GT's came with flush fitting bonnet latches. they operate with a push down & twist action & a neater way of doing things.

probably a bitch to fit though

The reason that they'd pick on bonnet pins and not on 4X4's with huge bullbars is because the pedestrian won't get caught on the bullbar or whatever, they just go straight underneath.

  Thanks everyone for the ideas! Sadly, ramps are a no go for me. With young kids at home, I do most of my work late at night while they're sleeping. Starting the car multiple times wouldn't be a great idea. I'll go see one of those new long reach low profile jacks and take a couple measurements to see if they will fit.
