Well my baby has now been transferred from NSW to ACT rego and I have therefore lost my number plates.

So if there are any New South Welshman/Welshwoman out in our merry group with a GTR my old plates(GTR OOM) should now be available in the NSW.

On the bright side I do have some Y series plates(ends in GT 32R) on order that should do the job :-)

I had more money than sense when I first got my plates for the GTS-T. Still I like em on the GTR but $1800 could buy all sorts of nice parts for the car. Cost is $122 for replacement - but I know this fella who .... if your interested

I am advised there is a cheaper method for Personailsed Plates.

1. Register a business (whatever name you like) $100-$150

2. Get the plates (Business Name) $350 ?

3. Do nothing with the business! - Claim the cost of the plates as a tax loss.

Meh - Sounds good, anyone want to test this?

It's dodgy...i had a long chat with the lady at the Shop Front one day about ways to get around it, and she was very forthcoming with information. However, i forget pretty much everything she said, as this was a good few months ago

I have know that ppl have done that before, reg a buss then used the something about the buss name in the number plate of the car. Reg buss in the ACT will cost you $110, then to buy the plates it will cost $500. (have to have something to do with buss name.) YOu will also pay a bit more for reg as your car will now be a buss car, so you can park in loading zones and shit.

After talking to an accountant, you have to earn at least $4 000 before you can claim anything as a loss. They put this in place to stop people getting a business name, and buy heaps of stuff they wanted so they could claim it back.

My GF has a business name, but had not yet earned enough to claim her business expenses at a loss. This is how I found out about it. This can carry on for a number of years until you've accumulated at least 4 g's of business.

what was the process transfering nsw rego to act? I made some early enquiries and was told I had to have an inspection-I am concerned about getting knocked back on things like exhaust, wheels, inductions etc. (had bad experiences in the past-17 defects!-which were all BS)

Go and get what I like to call a REGO muffler made for you. This way you go over the pits/rego station with the pee shooter and then when you get home you take it of. Also helps with if you ever get a defect for noise you go home and get the pee shooter for rego etc. Braddon exhaust made ours and I am sure they would do you a good deal also. Dan

I was lucky with regards to transferring rego from NSW to ACT 'cause my GTR was one of the australian release ones so I didn't have to go over the pits.

As far as I know you now have to take all imports over the pits. But saying that I'm not sure if you have to go over the pits if you're transferring ACT rego to ACT rego.

    • The 296mm rotors are the R33 turbo brakes. The 310mm rotors are the R34 turbo brakes. The calipers are nearly the same, but not. They're the same caliper but the R34 caliper has longer legs so that it sits out far enough to go over the rotor. The pads are the same for both. When you say, "I bough tsome EBC"....did you just mean pads? Or rotors? 310mm rotors fit under 17" wheels. There may be some wheels without enough clearance though. I can't fit my fingers between the barrel of my wheel and the "corners" of my R34 calipers, but there is plenty of room behind the spokes. This is on Enkei RPF1. You can fit 324mm rotors inside a 17" wheel, but I'd be willing to bet that it would be close to impossible with the Nissan/Sumitomo caliper (using an adapter, of course), because the Sumitomo caliper is fatter than the Brembo caliper that is supposed to go on the 324mm rotors.
    • Hi. Can someone tell me what brakes(and mainly WHERE) can i buy brakes on R34 GTT? I bought some EBC which SHOULD go on my car(i have GT but it has GTT brakes) but it does not fit, Brakes are "too" small(296mm) Are 310mm be good or? I have 17 inch wheel so no "big boys" but for me driving i just need one that fits and i can get here in EU/Czech.
    • Since winter isn't that harsh anymore in Poland, i will definetely drive it 365 days a year 😉. But if the snow hits i will try it for sure and let U know. Only swap i am planning to do is of course R34 GTR front 😍.
    • Hey. Very valuable information about pitwork, I will pay attention when buying any consumable parts 🙏 As for the carpets - I got a handful of information from nengun, from which it appears that indeed the carpets for the driver's side are OEM. They are not able to show me any pictures due to the long chain of different sales entities but after I place the order, as soon as the goods arrive at the nengun warehouse from which they will send the shipment to me they can send me photos and if my purchase differs from OEM I can immediately return it / cancel the purchase. I think I will give it a try 😉. Of course i'll let you know what's what as soon as i get them P.s. I know the topic is not relevant to the thread, but both nengun and amayama have these SICK 😍 trunk room lamps available. Do you know anyone who ordered them? I need to have one in my car
