My new car - need auction sheet translated

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

I just bought myself a nice new stockish series 2 JZX100 Chaser (I love the series 2 taillights!) to replace my R33, and I'm having a bit of trouble reading the Japanese on the auction sheet.

Here's what I've worked out -

It's green - colour code 6N9 (obviously)

a Tourer V

Grade 4

Interior is a C (I think..)

Auto

Climate control

Sunroof

Power steering

Power windows

TV

There are a few other things circled that are in Japanese that I can't work out. Especially the !! bit down in the comments section. Is that a good !! or a bad !! :P

Can anyone help me?

Cheers,

Michael

the comments opposite the front passenger wheel? talking about the navigation system. Apparently 'you can watch tv as you drive!' - except you won't be able to.

kanji is typically unreadable (japanese person might be able to work it out, due to familiarity)

sales point says - moon roof, factory navi/tv, bodykit, and 'discharge' (? that one's escaping me at the moment)

looks very stock

discharge = HID??

It could be discharge (High Intensity Discharge, HID) but I've usually found that they write it down as 'Xenon' when when it's noted on the Auction sheets.

I would have thought that that Chaser would have been too early for factory Xenon's, unless the previous owner installed an after market kit.

Cool. Thanks for that. I don't think I'll even be able to use the TV at all (let alone the navigation) since we use PAL and they use NTSC.

I also lose the xenons during compliance - but I'm going to see what I can do to get them back off the compliance place somehow.

All the Tourer V Chasers from 96 onwards have xenons btw InspectorGadget. And yeah, it's very stock. My R33 came in with all sorts of crap hanging off it, so I wanted a totally stock car.

You also want a totally stock car when it comes to getting it complied under SEVS Mick. You might be able to get the TV converted to play in Australia by Nam's Electronic Services in Sydney.

Looks like a very tidy example. Did you get the kind of money you wanted for your R33? I've seen it 4 times in the last week, and I was wondering why you weren't waving to me!

Reallly nice car man :)

Looks very clean.

Whens it arriving?

Charlie.

Thanks Charlie,

I'm not sure when it's arriving, but I only won it at auction yesterday, so judging on how my R33 went, I'd say around 2 months until I'm actually driving it.

Have you got a Chaser too?

haha yeah, I'd spot your car anywhere, so it was definitely the new owner you saw driving it :)

We were both pretty happy with the price I think. I'm just looking forward to a car with 4 doors and no 400R bodykit.

Thanks for the tip about the TV - I'll check that out.

btw newie people, see you in august  :)

do you guys get your compliancing work done in newcastle, or is it down to sydney?

I was planning on getting my work done in Sydney, but if there was a place in Newy that could do it, I'd be there in a second.

Are you from Newy originally DaiOni? Or just visiting?

well, I guess specific compliancing is a different ball game. I need a compliancer who can deal with the rather simple business of personal import compliancing.

I'm pretty much from newcastle (lived there most of my life) - and am coming home in august

Well I'm sure you could find someone who could do that around here.

What sort of car are you going to bring back? The Forester s/tb? They're not too common around here at all. In fact, I don't think I've ever seen a real one (although there are enough badged sti ones around).

Thanks Charlie,

Hey Michael,

    • Reading through the engine service manual their advice is do a cylinder balance test. Unplug one injector at a time and see if the idle drops a consistent RPM. You can also do this using a Consult cable which is easier. They also call for unplugging the power transistor, then with the engine off and the fuel rail unhooked from the manifold verifying that you have good fuel flow (even injection, no dripping/leaks, etc) when you twist the CAS by hand. Also verify the spark by pulling the spark plugs and allowing the plugs to ground and turning the CAS by hand. I would also start doing the sensor checks and idle valve checks in service manual. Make sure the MAF tests reasonably, the intake air regulator is sane, etc. You may have to get new spark plugs.
    • This sounds very old of me, however since buying the Tiguan shit box, my view on shit boxes have changed.
    • I've looked up the parts number (41011AL501). It's around $700 OEM. Usually our Infiniti G35 here in Canada have interchangeable parts with my Stagea but the parts number are not the same. I have looked around and it seems the JDM 2005 V35 Skyline (which is the same as our G35) has the same caliper but I cannot confirm. And I can't find a repair kit. The inner brake pads drags on the rotor, seems to be rusty piston. Thanks for the info by the way
    • This coupled with 6-9 speed autos with ridiculously short gearing is why these modern shitbox cars always seem so fast off the line. If it wasn't for those things, Raptors would not seem fast. The problem we have is there is a driveability gap between a more gentle take off and a wheelspinning sideways launch. The difference between ankle flex required to achieve one and ankle flex required to achieve the other is about 0.5°.
    • Yeah I think I'm also with the opposite here. It's 'hard to keep up with traffic' because in the real world I'm accelerating with 15% throttle and they are pinning it. It feels like I'm being an overt dickhead at anything above 15% throttle, so the car sounds like I'm being an overt dickhead to keep up with/get ahead of traffic when I'm really just trying to drive with traffic. There would be no issue 'keeping up with traffic' if we used the same level of throttle input/aggression to drive around. People really do just drive around with their foot nearly pinned in econoboxes.
