  1. Speedo is for sale out of it they said. I think they were chasing around $300 odd but. I think they are $500 brand new yeah?
  2. Here are some photos I took of a DR30 front cut at a jap wreckers in Newcastle on a recent visit there. Thought you guys may be interested! The car had 80000km on it and I had a fiddle with it and got it running. Motor sounded good and strong. The cut looked to have aftermarket front 4 piston brakes, braided brake lines, pod filter, aftermarket rear shocks and a 260km/h Jenesis speedo. The reason it was cut as it had serious rust in the front wheel arch/chassis rail area (like all old DR30's). I think he had $4500 on the cut and he was firm on it as they are hard to get a hold of.
  3. If you do decide to do a road/trail bike, something like a Yamaha TTR250 is a great bike to start on. I had one as my first bike, road it for two years and did nearly 15000km on it during that time with no problems whatsoever. I have since had a 2003 Yamaha WR250F and now have a 2007 Yamaha WR450 which I have motard wheels for. The maintenance side of owning a modern 4 stroke is a bit of a pain as I'm servicing it every 1000km, whereas the older 4 strokes, you can do service intervals at every 4000km. A good 2000-ish TTR250 or equvilant 250 trail bike should fit within your $3000 budget! The money you will save on fuel will be a blessing to, I was getting 150km for $10.50 of fuel (@ roughly $1.40/litre)
  4. No sympathy for him from my end whatsoever.
  5. Don't forget about the 7 demerit points you lose, more than the amount of points that either a red or green P plate holder can obtain! So its not just the fine you need to worry about. $1000 is a lot to pay in fines and you say its just $400 and $600? Does money grow on a tree in your backyard??
  6. "The car has been sitting in a workshop since 93" If its a 1996 model, how could it have sat in a workshop since 1993, or is it meant to be 2003? Do you have more photos etc? What paperwork do you have? Thanks
  7. They rust out in the front strut towers as the sheet metal is 3-4 layers thick. Water seeps into and cannot escape, therefore slowly rusting it away. It is a very common fault. Mine had it there and short of unstitching the originals and putting in new or good second hand ones, there isn't many other options to fix them!
  8. Have a look on Ebay for a laugh. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/RAGE-AGAINST-THE-MA...1QQcmdZViewItem
  9. I PM'ed you. Did you get it?
  10. Why do you need a tacho when there is already one in the instrument cluster??? Makes no sense to me, just pure wank factor!
  11. If you can't drive a restricted vehicle, it will state on the rear of the licence in the conditions section, "Must not drive prohibited vehicles". The officer must have been on a power trip and wanted to give you a scare.
  12. Sorry Blitz, but this question just has to be asked. Don't mean to hijack.......... In the 2nd picture, does the model leaning on the car on the right side of the photo looking straight at the camera only have a stump for an arm? Or is it just me?
  13. Look like a Jap rim such as Volk or Veilside. Take one of them off and have a look at the inside of it.
  14. It is not often done as R32 GTR seats are hard to find in good condition. Also, its like a step backwards. You are putting older seats in a newer car. Go figure! I would be spending the extra money and looking at a set of R33 GTR seats or even genuine aftermarket Sparco or Recaro's.
  15. Take the door trim off. Have a look at the window regulator and you will see a little motor connected to it. Unplug the white plug that goes to the motor. Grab 2 bits of wire/leads and hook them up to an old car battery, or a power source in the car. Use the bits of wire/leads and stick them directly into the plug that runs to the power window motor. If it is making the window go down, reverse the polarity and the window should then go up. It is simple enough and logic should prevail.
  16. Its the warning light for the cat convertor or the heat sensor going into the cat convertor.
  17. I think you will find there was once a sensor connected to the wire before you had your crash. The sensor is for the aircon.
  18. I replaced the front seats in my DR30 coupe with R34 GTT seats. I took out the old seats complete and turfed them. I put the R34 seats in by cutting and rewelding the seats mounts on the drivers side. It was unreal how close the mounts on the R34 seats were to fitting. From memory, on the passenger side, 3 of them were just re-bent and they lined up.
  19. That looks correct, obviously its bent to the shithouse!
  20. When I sold my Skyline, the new owner paid cash and the money smelt like pot. I has to wash it in hot soapy water before I took it to the bank!
  21. If you get stuck, you can belt a similar sized socket on there and undo the lock nuts. But doing this will ruin the socket and more than likely the lock nuts. By the sounds of it you are screwed anyways, so you might just need to do this and buy a new set of lock nuts.
  22. You could use a fatter headed screwdriver, or put a screwdriver on the screw and tap it with a hammer, that is if you have enough room to swing one.
  23. Did the front cut come with a slip yoke in the back of the gearbox? If so, just have that mated to your original tailshaft and have it made the correct lenght to suit.
