Hmm, if I'm doing 2.2K RPM going up a hill and floor it, being in 4th is not where I want to be! Surely you would have dropped it down to 3rd.. :-)

Oooops missed this, I was so involved in reading about Marc's new S2.

I did say "lean on it" not "floor it". You know......just a little extra throttle to hold speed going up the hill, not enough for it to kick down, but enough for it to make boost. The torque converter stays locked up, just 0.7 bar of boost and the turbo whines away.

I've actually got the numbers for when the torque converter will lock/unlock if you'd like me to post them.. But they are for the R34 M-AT box, which I'm not sure is in the Stagea - I suspect not for the series 1, and possibly for the series 2 (can anyone with a series 2 comment?)

Terminal,

I am just around the corner in Nettlefold St - Discount Tyre Service.  Just ring the tele No. in previous post to make sure I am at the shop.  You are more than welcome to come around. 18" arrive on Friday for the car.

Regards,

Marc

Hey Marc, congrats on geting your Stag. For those of us who dont live in Canberra, could you post a few piccies for us??!!

Cheers

OC

I went around to marc2's workshop today and we took a few pics of my S1 next to his S2. it's been hammering down with rain today, so the pics aren't as bright. he'll upload them later when he finishes. they looked really good next to each other.

Talk about a bit of pressure - will post as soon as I figure out how to upload. Off to the FAQ's for guidance.

O'kay,

There are a couple of pictures of 2 of the 3 Canberra based Stageas - and I think they ended up in my photo gallery. Then again they could have ended up anywhere. A pity Jay could not make it then we would have had a 100% attendance.

Marc2

Ahh, Marc and Term - sorry I couldn't make it. The rain totally fu*&$ed my day up. redered the wall in the morning then it started pi$$ing down  Had to keep an eye on it all the day so the render wouldn't slide off the wall :P

How about we do another day soon and get a few good pic's ?

Oh, there is another one in Canberra down here in Tuggers. A red one :) But they aren't on SAU :)

J

Nice pic, guys! Congrats on the new car Marc

Term, are those Voltec wheels on your S-1? Was wondering if they (or something very similar) would suit a Stagea, now I have my answer. Very nice indeed!

Cheers,

Nick T.

    • Legend. I ended up finding the facebook account of the owner of the first car i sent but sadly he deactivated the account. I think you’re right in saying it’s some sort of well done custom job. Really appreciate your help anyways.
    • Totally equivalent. Stock often goes from the comp cover because that's where the actuator is also installed and the factory needs 2" of hose to make the connection - and it comes as a pre-assembled unit. They totally have a boost reference from somewhere between the turbo and the throttle(s). Oh, jeez. Just do it in M12 then. We don't actually care that much. I would expect any such AN converter fitting to rely on an o-ring or some other seal onto a flat surface under the flange of the hex**, because bolt threads are no intended to provide a pressure seal. unlike..... pipe threads. **which also requires a suitably flat and smooth surface on the turbo's boss to provide the seal.
    • I also used NP   That’s were it’s seems to be the best place to fit it? All schematic shows also that it’s should be referenced from the turbo housing. But idk, I do see high hp cars without any connection or anything to their turbos, so I really don’t know how they connect their things
    • I do have loctite 243 and 246 and a few more models. I could drill it now in place and make new threads for m12 and order an4 - m12 coupling and fit that to the turbo. Run a braided hose to the EBC which I could get a an4 to 1/8npt
