Hello all

I took the new R32 GTR out to willowbank tonight to give it its first stretch.

ran a 12.3 on my first pass running 0.9 bar. pretty happy, but had some probs so decided to leave.

Now, as a skyline owner, i was VERY dissapointed at the level of comradery displayed by my fellow line owners...

We counted at least 4 r33gtsts that came from the drags and passed us on the side of the road (Cunningham highway) with the hazards on in the dark.

If I saw a skyline (or an evo or gtir(myold cars)) on the side of the road in the night (especially just after exiting willowbank) i would stop and offer assistance.

You know like teh brotherhood or whatever crap, fellow skyline owners.

All i got was people ripping skids and yelling out the windows.

lol

Huge Thanks to SAU-'EasyTiger' Dave and his mate for stopping with us untill we could track down a tow truck.

Great work.

Michael

woops,

Tommo was logged into my pc earlier on today. :D

so i accidentally posted that as him.

just ****en rotten a bit fellow skyline owners would just drive past!

i know it probably wouldnt happen in sydney with the nsw -sau people i know!

anyway, car will be good, hopefully will be out in a week or so havfing a bash at a better time.

mick

does sound a bit shitty thats for sure, but I think you will find that those people probably aren't a part of SAU anyway.

especially if they are chucking skids and yelling out the window :D

p.s great time by the way :)

yea i'd say the people who drove past weren't a part of SAU. I know that when I threw a rod at the track a while ago there was a few SAU members that helped me out. Especially Rodney (GOR33) who gave me a lift back from the track to the coast.

On a side note, what was the problem?

Matt

Yeah great time :) and if I saw you I would've stopped, I usually stop and make sure people are ok when they are pulled up along the highway, even if they weren't skylines. We are a pretty freindly bunch here on SAu!

thanks no worries guys. :)

was just a little upset last night.

Turns out the pipe from the compressor housing was blown off. lol

damn just a bit too hard to see out there at night. Hidden under the intake and mafs. :)

Might get back out on saturday and have a nother bash as i didnt really get many runs in 12.3 was first run first time out.

Thanks

Michael

Hey Guys,

It was magic to watch the freshly imported R32GTR only running on half boost do a 12.3 pass, however the hour wait for a flatbed tow truck... damn!!!

Tommo got it right... The amount of Skylines passing us who didn't even offer a mobile phone... WTF???... I really hope it was no-one frem SAU..

Especially the two fools in R33's who were drag racing past us, didn't slow down and only just skimmed passed us making Tommo jump off the road for his life... You have serious thrill issues dudes... But in saying that - Sick work for having a run!!! ha ha ha... I'd be taking the oppertunity for teaching the V8 boys a lesson!!!...

There are plenty of d*ckhead, who also drive skyline out there, BTW did you have your bonnet up? Normally I wouldn't stop in the middle of no where for someone on the side of the road unless they got their bonnet up.

But yeah yealling and carrying on are traits of the tools that populate our society.

i hate ****ing dickheads that yell shit and worse when you are at the side of the road, obviously trying to fix things. ****ing wankers!

I've got half a mind to walk out with a brick whenever i do have to pull over.. whoever lets fly with an insult, cops a brick in the car. Lets see how tough they feel then.

Worst still is that when you have your head buried in the engine bay and you mate cruises up quitely and toot the horn, It's not really funny when you got 3rd degree burns on your hands from it. So what pred. said is understandable.

My boss thinks its funny to see what damage the apprentice can do to himself by waiting until he right into a job in the engine bay and giving the horn a toot. Its one joke he never grows tired of..... :bonk:

Goodwork with the time.... It doesn't suprise me no one would stop, maybe if they wanted to mug you they might have pulled over.

Cheers

Sumo

lol

well i would stop if a fellow skyline owner wsa on side of the road.

anyway, im going back out tonight still on 9psi to have some more practise.

if anyones out there come say hi.

I wouldn't stop unless I had someone with me that’s how people steel little girls like me, so if you see my car go past when your on the side of the road don't take offence I just don’t want to be taken away.

What time will you be out there i might come watch?

hi,

yeah fair enough. :P

i'll be out there at about 4:30 for the start.

Like to get a couple of uns in early incase it gets busy.

Look for a Big Red headed fella with silver R32gtr and carbon bonnet. ZLR32.

    • What 1.5 way? There's no such thing really as a 1.5 way, just different ways of explaining 2 ways with different ramp rates. HOWEVER. In any driving in a straight line your 1.5 or 2 or 1.7 way should have no clunking at all. With the clutch fully depressed the diff should be silent (unless it's welded but I'm assuming it's not). Something aint right here.
    • Clutch is a spec brand, new clutch system,( PP, flywheel, friction disc, etc. pull type) installed 100 miles ago, with no problems.
    • looking for some help and maybe some insight on others experience with a new LSD. R34 GT ran and drove beautifully, but always alot of grip loss due to the open R200 rear end, so I just installed a new 1.5 LSD way into the stock open R200 for a ER34. Simple. Everything seemed right. I test drove for the first time this weekend. as I started to back out the garage the first time slowly with tires straight it sounded and felt like I had a loose or half disconnected drive shaft...that was clucking around loose and shaking entire vehicle, and making it feel like the trans clutch was spontaneously slipping then grabbing very roughly while just letting out pedal slowly. I backed it out went to pull forward with the same noise, shake and slip grab feeling with hesitation, I turned the tires to back out more and then pulled ahead some same thing but worst because of added wheel resistance (which that I expected) puzzled … pulling it back in checking everything over and finding nothing wrong, I tried it the next day. same thing, couldn’t believe how it shook everything again making a terrible noise and making it feel like the trans clutch was slipping and grabbing, but I got it out of garage into the driveway, got it straight, drove forward and then reveres a few times in a straight line everything shaking , causing what felt like clutch slip and grab every time, sounded like right behind front driver tire and I could feel it in the floor board with my feet,... worst right when beginning to let clutch pedal out to engage slightly, shuttering and sounding terrible along the way…I managed to slowly get down the road, babying it the whole way, once I was rolling (out of 1st) seemed to be better and between shifts, then clutch felt closer to normal…not slip/ grab etc., but back down to any stop, straight road or turning, same thing. Made no difference if all tires were straight or if I was turning. All other gauge read out correct. with in 2 miles as planned I reached the empty parking lot and performed the break in procedure that came with lsd, essentially to drive in a figure 8 a bunch.  Did this, binding chattering, and shaking the car the whole way. I drove it back home seemed somewhat normal once I was in straight line and past 10 mph or so, and I know it will “bind” on corners and cause some tires squeal when turning especially from a stop, but when I begin to move it still causes what feels like the trans clutch to slip and jerk badly as well as shaking the entire car, and sounds terrible, that I didn’t expect. I used the fluid they supplied with LSD kit and did the breaking, planning to change fluid as they suggest after breaking, but wondering will it get smoother or less aggressive with use? maybe a 1.5 is just too aggressive for normal road driving?   I have a LSD that I put in my 71 cuda when I restored it, with amazing smooth , quite yet effective results. Different style LSD but that ones a joy to drive. maybe expecting too much from this R200?
