 heya

as posted by the man - bigdatto in his other thread (trick out ps2 for $0)

The good people at AusDigital have released an all-in-one GUI based Exploit disc compiler to make life VERY easy for everyone. details at http://www.ausdigital.net/

All you need now is a PSX disc, PC, CD burner, PS2 & memcard, net adaptor & IDE HDD. Brain no longer required.

well....I'M BLODDY LOST

i have the above things (ps2, ps1 game, PC, burner, ps2 + memcard, official network adaptor thing and a hard drive hooked up.)

but i dont know what to do next. i want to be able to copy things (games/movies to the hard drive as the laser is getting crappy.

i've been trying everything, searching all over the web but still nothing

please help me.

the closest i've come is finding places that want to sell me some cd magic thing that comes with a slide tool or "hdloader" as i have read about here and other places lots, that allows you to do the swap but i figured that was before my "brain was no longer required"

sorry to look like a noob ;)

Alright, i'm at this point and i need further assistance...

I have been following the instructions at lookatthemonkeys.com:

1. I ran titleman.exe using the SCES info on my PS1 disc.

2. I ran CDGenPS2.exe and made an ISO of the required files.

3. I burned the ISO generated onto a CD.

4. I have 2.5MB free on my memory card.

5. I insert the SwapMagic CD and wait for the main screen.

6. I use the slide tool to open the PS2 CD drive.

7. I place in the burned CD.

8. I close the PS2 CD drive & use the slide tool to lock it in place.

9. I press "X" on the controller and I get a blank screen that never does anything.

I assume this final stage is where it is meant to copy the required files onto the memory card so that if the PS1 game is in the drive it will load .ELF files off the Memory Card.

If I put the .ELF file onto a USB memory stick and have that in the PS2 USB port while Swap Magic is loading up it will automatically load the .ELF file on the USB memory stick, but then it has problems with CDVD.IRX. I assume they need to be on CD or it won't work.

i am using swap magic 3.6

anyway, yeah

help

cheers dudes

Sounds like you're doing everything right. Did you place a dummy file (50-100meg) in the disc image ? Ps2 might not be able to read the disc if the image is too small. I've experienced problems with some media also. $ony CDR's just won't read at all, surprise surprise.

I still advise you to get the Ausdigital compiler. It works faultlessly every time.

Patience will reward you, Jedi.

hey matey, sorry for not replying sooner

    • (it is a brand new ported mellings pump) I suspect the lack of pressure is due to the leak. It was *not* that low in other logs of oil pressure in the past. It wasn't that hot either, but not far off.
    • Would a Mellings oil pump be a viable option  From my time with a LS, and talking to tuners and LS specialists, the "weak" OEM oil pump is one of the first things they recommend to swap out if I was going to give the engine any high RPM I opted for a Mellings high volume, with the high pressure springs and I never had a issue with it Cost wise they are not expensive in the scheme of things
    • Just bought a 2002 Stagea 250tRS VR-X Four AERO VQ25DET and spent the last two weekends cleaning and detailing it.. still have to do the wheels and the engine bay but the rest of it came up nice. Imported 2011 to S.A. and I'm the third owner since it was imported. I met the guy who brought it over, he went to Japan and picked out the car, bought it and ordered the wheels. He also gave me a list of stuff he did to the car with receipts. Coil overs (I have the original springs), 3" exhaust from the dump pipe back no cat, Custom dump pipe,(I have the original exhaust), Plenum spacer, 18" custom Work XSA wheels (need restoring, I've made a start..), Shift kit put through the 5 speed tiptronic auto, TV and menus/screens changed to english, Australian DTV tuner installed in rear. I've just had four new discs and new pads as well as all the fluids including the brake fluid replaced. I have all the receipts for the last 15 years and the import papers in a nice folder. Car looks great, goes like hell but fuel economy is not a thing lol.. pics next..
    • I ended up in this rut again lol, and used a shit ton of filler. One thing I can't understand is, even after using a big long block and going in long X pattern strokes, I always end up at bare metal again with no filler, and my repair started at one end of the door and now I've chased my tail to almost the other end of the door. I was thinking of hitting the panel with a hammer where it might be a high spot and making everything low then filling it, I did this on a small section on my other door by mistake and I think I fixed it lol. Is this a bad idea? The other thing is with guidecoat, whether it's the powder or spray, after I sand all the guide coat off, it doesn't reveal anything for me in terms of high spots and low spots and makes it especially hard when it's bare metal (at least in powdered form), am I doing something wrong here, or likely a high spot I keep going over and creating valleys? Lastly, stupid question but, is it possible that after sanding if I only sand over the filler area where I know to be a dent that it's impossible for me to dig into that dent? Unless there are other problems which I missed.
