I clocked on 18 in april,

Last year or so I started and run a business with help from my parents and sell over the internet, on eBay actually. My postal runs are quite large ($300 each few days) and therefore i carry a lot of sheit. Also, i always need to just carry stuff around in general, i am one of those garage sale/auction lovers, soo

-> hence, wagon

Plus, i want to be different. I dont want a skyline, 180, silvia etc just because, its so attractive to the police and also EVERYone has one (well not really, but get the idea)

I understand the disadvantages of starting with my base platform as a wagon, but i cant wait until i get it handling a bit better, bit more power, bit better braking and a bit sexier.

On the up side, depending how long i keep this car, i wont ever get the "honey, sell your car, its too small" later in life. So if i sink $50k into the car, at least i can enjoy it for many years to come without fear of spousal resistance

Oh, funnly enough, my girlfriend didnt like the stagea at first

"It looks like a herse!"

Now, we wash to together and she is the one saying

"Damn it looks sexy"

I'm 26.

Long story in regards to purchasing, but basically due to my job I carry around a lot of equipment (well more big stuff like studio lighting & such) and need the space (and security) the stagea offers, that and it wasn't a commo!!!

AC, whats your ebay username? Im always buying off ebay, perhaps you can start to specialise in Stagea's, for all of us.......?

28 next month, 1 wife so far, a little 2.5yr old man, and a negative 3month old (due in January). Add in the little man's dog, and the wagon becomes the 'mature' choice.

Doesnt mean I cant enjoy mod'ing it tho! I cant get over just how good a car it is (and I didnt call it a wagon, as when you're driving it, it doesnt feel like one)!

My username, heres my shop

I will always take opportunities to do business, just at the moment due to the lack of numbers selling stagea stuff just isnt worth it... + i do home products.. :)

your ebay link does not seem to work? user name?

I'm 22, but got the wagon when i was 21. i've been in love with the stagea since i found what they were after i bought my R33 and wanted a station wagon again (my first car was a kingswood wagon V8)

All my mates thought i was crazy buying it, and my girlfriend says it looks like a hearse too, but now she likes it because of the attention we get in it.

Oh....the other reason l got my car was so l can carry my dogs about......american staffy & a Ridgeback X need the space of a wagon when travelling!!!

thats as close as l'll get to kids for quiet a while!!

younger than i thought, gotta love the staj and its no comparision to a commodore for driving comfort, the stagea has about 50mm thick floor deadening under the carpet and commos have about 3mm thick wool haha :)

2 sunroofs are the best feature ever :)

    • So could it be assumed it has been installed intentionally with potentially a power FC boost controller kit?
    • Had my rig on Matt's dyno at PITS the other day. After a few years between tunes I added a few sensors and swapped intercoolers. Result. 553hp at 26psi. Not bad for an FJ20 that was built in 2007. The problem.. It filled the overflow bottle on hard runs which leads me to believe the head gasket isn't sealing. I have a coolant pressure sensor which was reading cap pressure at 22psi and occasionally overrunning to 23/24 psi on deceleration after a pull. It was not spiking. It has arp2000 head studs and a cometic gasket. As its been 18 years in service, I pulled the engine out and head off. Everything looks good but we obviously have an issue. Where I'm at.. Years ago I had the same issue, I checked the stud tension and they were all over the place. Some at 60 to 70 and some up near 90. I nipped them all to 100ft lbs and this stopped the water push until now. I believe this compromised the gasket back then. What do I do? 2 options are..  1) I bought arp 625+s, which I could put in with a new gasket. Thinking Kameari this time, reassemble and try again. 2) strip the block, get fire rings machined in with copper gasket and try that. I do not want to push it more than 28 to 30psi. I think the turbo will be out by then anyway. (G30-770). My other concern is the long term ability of a copper head gasket. Are they streetable for years? I feel like a new gasket with the new studs will probably suffice, but I don't know. Any thoughts welcome and advice on copper gaskets and fire rings. Thanks!
    • I'm a fan of the JZX110, and the Aristo. Big cruiser cars, and with the factory cars, super comfortable and feel like you're driving an armchair! And the JZ motors are a pretty nice engine too, especially with some basic mods.   The import process, and the need to be able to trust people, and the fact there's so many scammers around is what ever puts me off wanting to go through that ordeal!
    • I don't care for these at all, but at least the underside looks straight and not rusty. A good basis for a long life. Many cars from Japan have been lifted with forklifts and f**ked almost irrepairably.
    • Yes, but it's not dumb or dodgy. You can build a perfectly good boost controller from a pressure reg, a relief valve (looks same same as a reg if all from Norgren or SMC, for example) and a check valve. I ran one for years. Only superceded with  EBC because I could get one for cheaps and wanted finer control.   THis mod is certainly not a sketchy boost mod, provided the boost is kept below the "spin to death" threshold of the turbos.
