My Yokahama AO32's had worn out so I went looking for a new tyre.As I drive my GTR everyday,R compound were wearing out quick.I decided to try the new RT 615's from Falken,at $330 a tyre for 255/40/17,they were cheaper than SO3's.They are not a true R compound but have thick sidewalls, aggresive tread pattern and brilliant grip, apparently I was the second guy to get them in Vic,someone else has a set on an STI.

Very impressed with grip level, have not tracked them yet, wont get a chance as I have some LMGT4's with RE55's waiting on the docks for me.

Will be interesting to see how they cope with a track day. As a street tyre they should be awesome.

It will also be interesting to see where Falken heads in the future with their tyres since their parent company ( Ohtsu ) has been bought out by Sumitomo.

I am going to get the RT 615's as soon as Tempe Tyres get them in stock next month, they have been out in the states for a little while and I have only been reading lots of good things about them. Tempe said that they would cost me $280 a tyre for a 255/40/18.

m&m - how soft is the rubber? I realise it's not going to be quite as tacky as the Comp-Rs you've run in the past, but relative to your regular streeters how are they?

I'm up for new tyres in the not-too-distant future, and I want something sporty, but tyre life is a bigger factor since I'll have rims for Comp-Rs.

It seems my new wheels are delayed, so I'll have more time to wait for you to drive them around and let us know what the wear rates are. ;-)

I am very interested in them (I ran RT215s for a while and loved everything but the fact that they were wearing the tread depth indicators at 11,000km) but I'll have to see how they cope as a commuter tyre.
