The best bet I would think would be to

-Remove interior roof trim

-Inspect if the roof is able to be beaten out

-If not beaten out, bog fill and sand down, respray

Since when can you buy replacement roofs? Arnt they part of the fixed chassis? With the nissan part, would you cut and weld on the new roof, sand then paint?

Noske, what state do you and your Stagea live in?

I know a Sydney-based dent-puller who might be up to the task. He has a good reputation and went to Europe (mostly Germany, IIRC) a few years ago when they had massive storms, and did work for the Mercedes-Benz factory storage yards.

Hi again and thanx for the input

I am on the Gold Coast

I went to heaps and heaps of dent removal guys and heaps of pannel beaters and all the same story too many dints on a big surface cant fix.

The best price i got so far is $800 to fit and paint if i got a new roof

BUT Nissan is taking their time to get back to me but i dnt think e new roof should be more than a $1000 but its just getting it thats the problem

ALEXCIM - Its not a replacement roof its just the skin on the top that comes off and you weld a new skin on.

You do make a good point with the sand and paint but the boging how long would that last with the hot and cold i think it would crack you?

GOLDZILLA - Thanx its worth a try i ll be in Sydney in about a month or so whats the guys name and ph no please?

TERMINAL - Thanx a lot

Noske, I am in the process of getting the guy's details for you.

Sorry about the delay, waiting on his details from someone else, and we haven't had a chance to speak in the past few days...

  • 2 weeks later...

Sorry for the delay Noske, the guy's name is Todd, and his business is "The Dent Magician."

He's based in Sydney, but you can still give him a call and see if he may be able to recommend someone - unless of course you do end up coming to Sydney as you mentioned...

So the details are:

Todd - "The Dent Magician"

Mobile: 0432-323-204

Cheers,

Nick T.

    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
