It wasnt on my bill when i got my 32 done, so i guess not. Compliancer's only do what they have to in order for the car to be registered and nothing more usually. If the car came in with stuffed brakes they would have had to put newies in to get it registered.

Probably a pretty rare occurance actually :D

Things like brake pads and spark plugs are not compliance issues, so I doubt any compliance workshop would replace them unless you asked for it to be done also

The compliance workshop is not really responsible for getting the car to a roadworthy standard, but rather just to make sure it meets ADR's - so if your car comes in with stuffed pads, then it would be up to you to replace them.

That's true....

After collecting my paperwork from the compliance centre, i found thaty the pads HAVE to be changed if there is LESS than 50% of breake pad left.

So i ended up answering my own thread.....DOE!!!

But thanks for the input guys...

i wanted to make sure that i was not being given the bump steer...

That is true that the car must meet emission standards, even if it means having to tune the car - but it says nothing anywhere on the engineers certificate about brake pads.. I am surprised that your front pads have been changed by the compliance workshop, and even more amazed if you were not charged for them on top of the other work.
