Loud Grind And Refused To Go In :/
Rekin replied to Rekin's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
clutch was all the way in and no chance it was reverse. This is what confuses me..anyone have any more ideas? Other things which may/may not relate; - Occasionally have trouble putting reverse gear in. - One time, my clutch pedal stayed half way in and had to press it a few times until it popped out to full length. - 2nd gear cant be used in mornings until car warms up - stock clutch also cheers -
Loud Grind And Refused To Go In :/
Rekin posted a topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Hey, Was overtaking a car in 2nd gear, roughly 4000-5000rpm, decided to go into 4th gear and skip 3rd after overtake. Clutch in, out of 2nd easily, neutral and press down into 4th, slow gear change. As i pulled down to 4th, heard a massive grind and it didnt want to go into 4th. As soon as i heard the loud noise, put it back into neutral and rolled a bit and then into 3rd no worries. Could smell something too after the loud grind, probably the clutch being pressed in for too long? Are my Syncro's GG'd? or did the clutch play in this too... Anyone know why it didnt want to go into 4th + loud grind Gearbox is fine now and all gear's work. Occasionally i have trouble down shifting into 2nd, as in it doesnt want to go in Cheers -

According to the owner of those seat covers, they were embroiled by another company after he purchased the seat covers.

According to Clarion USB headunit... Quote from carmp3, regarding the pioneer usb cable;
-
Looking around for a new headunit, they all seem to be compatible with ipods, and i guess that is the future. I was thinking about the audio quality of the ipod when plugged up to headunit. Not via an aux input but the cable which connects at the bottom of the ipod. Reading around, this cable transmits songs avoiding the ipod's amplifier which should make the songs sound much better. Is there any difference between the first gen ipods and the latest version in terms of the raw audio transmitted through the cable? I dont want some flashy colour screen, or video/photo playback. Just want a base model storage device to transmit clear audio Although looking around, certain headunits offer a USB port such as the new pioneers in 2007. Would the headunit be able to handle a usb external 80gb hardrive the same way as an ipod? Or is this pushing the limits of the usb feature? Seen some laptop external hardrives which are powered by USB alone, and wondering if the headunits provide enough power for the hardrive... Would rather purchase a hardrive than an ipod Cheers - Patrick

How To Install A Sub And Amplifier In An R32
Rekin replied to Sean'O's topic in Tutorials / DIY / FAQ
CATKICKER that is awesome! Can you please upload more pictures as I am stumped on my boot design! What are your Amps mounted to? A board mounted on the metal plate? Or was that removed. Did you mount directly to the seats? How is it mounted? The sub is in the spare tyre well? If these questions stray outside the guidelines of the tutorial section could you post it in the car audio section? Cheers -
How To Install A Sub And Amplifier In An R32
Rekin replied to Sean'O's topic in Tutorials / DIY / FAQ
Thank you very much for the awesome instructions and pics Installing amp wiring now and would have been lost without these steps. Browsing other threads about common probs with installation, ill group them up in this thread so others in the future wont have to search Best Way to feed the Power cable through the firewall hole is by removing the inner guard as explained by mr 32: In my attempt, you dont need to remove the wheel as the jack lifts the body of the car making it easy to access all screws if you have a small screw driver -
Just popped off the inner guard to reveal a large rubber grommet blocking my hole Do i pop it out or do i make a hole through it? not sure how to get thruugh this thick rubber... Edit: Made a hole using screwdriver the power cable is finally through ^^,

Dropped by my local Jaycar store and had a look in their catalouge and found a kit which will solve all our problems ----------------------------- Car Air Conditioner Controller Kit This kit stops the air conditioner in your car from taking engine power under acceleration. It will allow the compressor to run with low throttle even when the cabin temperature setting has been reached and will automatically switch the compressor off at idle. it also features an override switch and an LED function indicator. Kit supplied with PCB with overla and all electronic components. Recommended box UB3 HB-6013 $39.95 Cat. KC-5437 ----------------------------- Someone buy it and install it - Patrick

Can someone confirm if the fuel light turns on when in ingnition for a R32? Mine doesn't light up and wondering if this was a feature added into r33+
-
thanks for the confirmation, i wasnt crazy after all
-
Doesnt the globe light up when you turn on ignition? On the r32 all the lights turn on and see the petrol light flash. Im sure its similar to r33's? edit: i could be thinking of the oil pressure light, some r32/r33 confirm

I think all Mongoose m80 series come with 2 stage shock sensor as standard. I had the m80AU fitted about 3 weeks ago. Couldnt be happier. ultrasonic are high frequency waves being sent around the inside of the car. If something gets in the way of the bouncing signals they set off the alarm. Basically, if you have the window down and you stick your hand through the alarm will go off. Reason I chose: If car has tinted window's and window is popped out, glass break sensor may not hear. Sensitivity: I think it is perfect. A lot of people say its too sensitive but majority dont even have the system..Not once have I had a false trigger from the sensors. I also had window sunshade stuck on window, one side detached and didnt trigger the alarm. I paid an extra $40 when compared to glass break sensor and I guess its worth it for such a low price difference. I was planning on getting microwave sensor but the alarm person talked me out of it, not sure why, thought it would be better having a chirp if someone looks through window. I think it may cause too many false triggers if people walk past etc..

You only have to do one parking test also. Did a 10metre reverse and park or something. I was ready to do every parking i learnt. Expected more challenges from the test but it was just a quick 10min run around the block.

if you make eye contact with the person next to you, you have to race them That computer test was shocking, real lagging and past on 51% 95%+ on the actual driving test so go figure lol Got into the car with tester. Told me to reverse out of carpark onto main road. I put it into reverse(not hard enuf) popped into neutral and started rolling forward Also told me to turn right and started indicating left ~_~ After these 2 quick blunders, decided to relax at the next lights and went all good If you go with a good learner instructor, they usually provide some notes about the test day. Here are some OVERTAKING You will be required to press the mouse button at the point you would overtake. Make sure there is enough gap. . You are following a tractor in the country with double lines on the road. Wait till you get to the top where the lines change to single broken and you can see in the distance. . You are following a bike in a small shopping strip. You can’t overtake, as there are oncoming cars and cars pulling out of parking bays.
