  1. Cool. Well reckon you can check it out when you get home? I'm in Newcastle NSW so I guess if I was gonna buy it you'd have to COD post it here or put it on eBay or something?
  2. Got any shaft play? Where abouts are you?
  3. Actuator set for stock boost? If your thinking of selling it I'll take it... Like... now. =) Or I could get Hypergear to do it for just under $1000 including oil lines. And that's exactly what they do. Re core it, machine the housing and put new seals in it.
  4. Gcg want just under 2 grand. I've heard that they are the best, but that kind of money is a bit excessive. From what's been said, I'm just gonna clean the intake out and eliminate blow by as an oil source and see if the oil comes back. P.s, its not a "bit of oil" theres pools sitting in parts of the intake. Whether that is just cause the intake has never came off to be cleaned.
  5. Yeah I'm starting to see that. I don't wanna start throwing money at it if it's going to be an ongoing thing... Trying to save for bigger things (i.e house). Almost everywhere I've spoken to says they will highflow it as well as rebuild (hypergear included) so what if I get it installed, install a manual boost controller and just retard the boost to 7psi if it tries boost higher after the highflow.
  6. Does the Z32 ECU plug into the R33 harness or do you need to re-wire it?
  7. Right. Well that's another curveball. Price goes up to around $2150 for highflow and Nistuned z32 ECU. Sigh.
  8. Okay, so I pulled my intake apart this afternoon... Shaft play isn't overly bad, but it's definitely present. Gonna fabricate up a catch can, install it, clean the intake out and check the intake again in a few weeks and see if the oil is still present. My plan for upgrade (now I've researched it, I kinda wanna do it anyway) is to get Hypergear to highflow the turbo and install a NIStune daughter board to the ECU and tune it for 10psi boost. Should cost around $1700.
  9. Yeah looked into nistune. For the price and what I want that's what I'll be getting. Thanks, everyone's been super helpful
  10. What are you guys (those of you running highflowed/bigger turbos) running in terms of ECU? Have you just got a remap or are you running aftermarket ECU modules like Wolf3D or Microtech?
  11. No worries I'll steer clear of it. Thanks
  12. Another question... Anyone ever put a Garrett GT3582R turbo on their RB25? I.e do they bolt up to the stock dump pipe? Can get ahold of one for around the same price as a highflow on my stock turbo.
  13. Yeah I've gotta pull the intake off and check for shaft play before i do anything.
  14. Would an ecu upgrade be needed if I'm running.stock boost (7psi)? I wouldnt have thought so...
  15. Well when you say cheap, how cheap? Like $50?
  16. Another related question... can you just buy a new turbo with a t3 flange and bolt it on using the same actuator etc?
  17. Bw33zy, if your looking at getting rid of your old turbo soon then I'll take it and.get it high flowed. Looking around at prices of rebuilt OEM turbos so we'll see how that goes.
  18. I'm near newcastle NSW. Just out of curiosity, what are you doing in terms of upgrade?
  19. Hi all, First post here, have been a skyline owner for some time. I'm driving a bog stock R33 GTST S1 (1994) with approx 170xxx km's on the clock. During some routine maintenance (I'm a mechanic by trade) I've discovered oil in my intake, from which I deduce my turbo is on the way out. I doubt it has been off the car since production, so it's no real surprise it's on the way out. Anyway, I have no real desire to chase big power out of the car (it's my daily driver and don't want to send my fuel costs through the roof) so I'm simply thinking of replacing the turbo with another stock turbo after getting it rebuilt. However, if I can, I'll stick another turbo onto the stock manifold and just keep the stock wastegate and run standard boost through it so I don't have to modify the stock computer and injectors. So! The question I'm asking is, can anyone put me onto a brand/make of turbo that I can simply bolt onto the existing manifold/dump pipe? Otherwise, I'll just chase down another stock turbo and rebuild it. Thanks guys. (p.s, if there is another thread with this information, put me in that direction and I'll delete this one)
