Defiantly a clunk. Im sure to have the clutch completely in when changing gears. It sounds like a thud coming from underneath the back seats area. I haven't been releasing the clutch too early either. any ideas???

Hi all, recently just bought my first japanese car being a 1998 R34 GT-T with a manual transmission. Over the last few weeks i've noticed a slight clunk sound when I change gears. At first I thought it could have been from my driving and clutch release but after being extremely careful through my gear changes the clunking sound has continued....I noticed the sound to be loudest from first to second gear change and quiter from second to third. Any ideas what it could be or has the gearbox just had its time and in need of a change?? thanks
