  1. There's really no need for a twin plate. My gtr is virtually stock accept for coilovers, cold air intake and power fc. "Clutch shudder" sorry for being a newb but are your referring to the spinning rattle noise when depressing the peddle/ disengaging? Or is that what that terrible grinding noise is when taking off? Haha it's loud enough that everyone within 25 feet will turn their head haha
  2. Hey everyone, May I ask for you're advise on this? I'm new to having a twin plate clutch. Either my clutch is gone to crap or I suck at driving lol. I have driven many different manual cars for the past 10 years with no problems. So I would like to think that I'm at least decent at it by now lol. Here's the situation. I bought the GTR from a co-worker about a month ago. He complained that he didn't like the clutch and I second his opinion! -I have to take off really slooowwwwww. -The grab point is all the way off the floor and is very unforgiving. If I had to describe the amount of space my foot has to move when slipping the plates it's a centimeter lol. -And the worst part about it is! About 2 out of 10 times, the clutch makes a horrible and very loud grinding noise. -I get the normal rattle when the peddle is depressed. The grinding noise is what most concerns me. Judging from where the grab point is my guess is that the clutch is on it's last leg. All I know is that it's an Orc clutch/ unknown mileage. Help!
  3. It's an option when you're building one. They have black and red bride fabric.
  4. Here's the new ones, had some trouble with the uploader on the iphone lol.
  5. Hey everyone, My the original shift and e brake boot that was in my GTR had seen better days. I decided to purchase a custom made one from http://www.redlinegoods.com/ . I'm really pleased with quality of craftsmanship and would definitely recommend their products. I chose a black Bride material with red stitching, cost me $130.00 shipping included.
  6. Nice! You still in Oki bro? I'm in sasebo but I'm headed to Oki on July. I just ordered some parts from nengun myself. Well see how it works out. Good luck with the build bro!
  7. Hey everyone, here's a pic of the nasty build up that was in my paint. After a quick detail today I think she turned out pretty well!
  8. Sup everyone, Sorry for the late reply, but work has been exaughsting lately! Anyways, I figured I would post what worked for me. After three days if 18 hour shifts, I went our side a wrenched that f*^#er off. Lol, this is the wrench style I used. http://item.mobileweb.ebay.com/viewitem;PdsSession=9f0fd82e13b0a5aa83337833fff87385?itemId=251199334940&index=9&nav=SEARCH&nid=27173458295 (Sory I'm a little new to forums so you'll have to copy and paste) I wrapped the metal band in electical tape; all i had at tge monent) and i think that helped with the grip. I positioned the base if the handle on the filter at the 3 0clock position. Then with the handle poi ting counter clockwise I wrenched that way. After some cursing and getting blue in the face, I muscled that sucker off! Relocation kit hasn't come in yet. Thanks for the input everyone and hopefully this helps someone else out. -marsh
  9. Thanks for the replies mates! I've tried all of the above methods. Tomorrow in going to grab a big ol' pair of channel locks and see how that works. Once she's out I'm installing a greddy oil filter relocation kit and an oil cooler. Wish me luck!
  10. Hey everyone, To start this is embarrassing that I even have to post about this but, apparently I'm not the only one with this problem according to other forums. Yesterday I did some much needed maintenance to my recently bought GTR. I changed out the brake pads, turned the rotors and replaced the HKS air filters. I also ATTEMPTED to change my oil... When it came time to swap out the oil filter, I spent 3.5 hours trying to the get the old one off. I used three different styles of oil filter wrenches and neither of them did the trick. When I could actually get both my hand and the wrench down there to torque it off, it would just dent and puncture the filter. The filter now looks like a soup can that someone kicked off of a cliff and screwed it onto the side of my rb26 lol. I'm out of ideas. Contemplating taking off the air plenum and possibly retorting the wires and hoses that are surrounding the filter of possible to make future oil changes easier. Ideas or similar experiences?
  11. Thanks Luke Gtr! Following the detail ill post up pics. In the meantime, any recommendations on where to start? My knowledge is pretty limited on skylines being that there are none in America. As it stands now, she's got a 105,000km on the clock. Bought her from a Japanese tuner shop named PowerBox. From what I understand its a really reputable shop. However I think the owner threw in some random parts to sweeten the deal? Mod list includes: Volk rims, twin plate clutch(unknown brand), HKS intake, Koyo rad, turbo timer and a power fc. Feels incomplete right? It's my understanding that the gtr's were manufactured severely under tuned, with intake and exhaust flow restrictions. So why the twin plate and power fc? First mod I have planned would be exhaust. I'm looking at Tomei titanium and possibly putting in the cat delete pipe as its pretty easy to get away with in Japan. Anyone running the same exhaust? Thoughts/ suggestions?
  12. heres a poor quality iphone pic for now...
