  1. Putting a decent resonator on your system eliminates it completely and as NA_33 said, although it becomes a bit quieter it sounds much deeper. I can relate to what all of you guys are saying, it kicks in around 2500/3000 rpm and makes an awful crackling/vibrating noise. I to was embaressed changing gears b/c the sound was that awful! Trust me, all you need is to put a good resonator in the piping, you'll be thankful.
  2. Everyone tells me that and has a go at me thinking i went to that trouble!?? But i bought the car as stock as a rock with the exception of a factory fitted Type M front bar so of all the things that could be done to the car i don't know why my little ricer would go to the trouble of changing the badges of all things... while not even bothering to take off the GTS25 decal from the rear or update the calipers !!

  5. Yeah will do mate, they're a bit more than coby's but reasonably priced.
  6. Yeah when i was fixing my exhaust i got them to check one last time for any extractors other than Coby and they found a place in Sydney that does RB25DE extractors by Hurricane. I've heard of the brand just havn't seen a pic and don't knwo anythign about them. I wasn't expecting anyone else to do extractors for non-turbo's. Obvioulsy they're mild steel but i'll find out a little more about them.

  8. Hey guys just letting you know i got my exhaust fixed the other day, and yes Eug you were right it was the resonator. They fitted a larger one and it has completely eliminated that annoying rasping note! Sounds mad now a really deep throaty note. So if anyone has that prob which i know a few of you do, change your resonator or put one in!
  9. Yeah at the momment i've got a Magna Flow it looks and sounds great, however i'm contemplating changing it to an angled cannon style. Just some advice when you get it done, put a universal muffler in the cat back as well, not only will it quiet it down and make the exhuast less droney but it will also help eliminate that awful vibrating noise that NA's are renowned to make with an aftermarket exhaust!
  10. Go an X-Force stainless steel cannon style with 4.5" tip! Can get them with titanium tips as well they look and sound mad!! Another good brand is MagnaFlow.... OR another option, A'pexi do an N1 series for NA cars with 2.5" inputs! Bit pricey though i'd imagine. Thats my 2 cents :bond:

  12. Haha yeah i've heard a few guys have had this same problem. I've had my stock exhaust on since i got the EPA test, but i'm thinking about adding another muffer into the system, before the cat if i do decide to put it back on. Hopefully that will eliminate the noise!! Otherwise i'm helpless, pack it up, sell it and leave the stock system on. Or buy a good reputable Jap brand like a Kakimoto, trust, a'pexi or blitz system. I did heaps of research and i was soo close to getting one of these but in the end decided to go to the local exhaust place!! Ah well what can you do!

  14. Thanks mate, yeah i've heard that but mine's pretty much piping all the way through, and i confronted them about that and they said it wouldn't be. Does anyone else have this problem? My mate's is fine however his 33 has an RB20. Has anyone overcome this problem?
