  1. Hi All, OK so here is the update and where I am up to. I have 3x GTR R32 A/C compressors. 2x Zexel (original one off the car that leaked and a second hand working one I bought recently) & 1x Valeo (the new one that failed) The specialist pulled apart all 3 of them and made 1 really good one. Looks like he decided to use the Zexel housing. 180ml of n8 denso oil has been put in it and we fitted it to the car. Next we have removed the old condenser from the car, drilled out the rivets and removed the mounting brackets to be reworked into a new universal condenser. The reason for using a new universal condenser is because it was suggested that the pressures with the original condenser was to high after retro fitting with134a gas. The old condenser was a 'Serpentine' type and the new I bought is a much more efficient 'parallel flow' condenser. Just waiting for the rain to clear so that we can fit it to the car, then have to clean all the lines again before recharging the system and it should be ready for winter lol. Pictures to follow..
  2. Hi Luke, After inspection, it looks as though the AC compressor had overheated internally and seized. The A/C specialist suspected the pressure's were too high due to the older original condensor design as the system was not designed to operate on R134a. We used PAG46 oil in the new A/C compressor. Between 160-180ml. Yes they replaced the reciever drier, cleaned out all the lines, even replaced one. Also did the evaporator, TX valve under the dash. Cleaned the lined out with Shellite. The works.
  3. Hi All, Just an update on the brand new AC compressor I bought over 2 years ago from RHD. I had it professionally fitted and after running it for just over a year in the car it has failed internally. I am getting it checked this week to see exactly what had failed but I can tell you it has seized! It was a genuine OEM replacement Valeo brand. Looks like Nissan dont supply Zexel any longer. If anyone has an alternative reliable compressor which can be fitted to the Nissan GTR R32 please let me know. I have heared that some Infinity, GTR 33 & GTR 34 compressors may be adaptable but I have not seen any fitted. Thanks!
  4. Hi Bob, I called Terry and he was unable to help me out so I ended up buying it from RHD, I ended up costing me about $1250 with delivery. Here is the link if any one is after a brand new compressor for their GTR R32. http://www.rhdjapan.com/nissan-oem-ac-compressor-05u14-bnr32-skyline-gt-r-60748 It will save you about $800 from going through the local dealership. Also when you get your compressor don't forget to take it to your air con guy to change the oil because my one came with oil for R12 gas?? You want them to change it to R134a compatible oil. It will save you the nightmare I had after already put it on the car only to take it off again. Cheers
  5. Thank you. I will give it a go and let you know!
  6. Hi, My ac compressor is leaking all over the place and was wondering if anyone knows of a place in Sydney where I could get it repaired? I live in the eastern suburbs and everyone I have taken the compressor to has told me that they are unable to obtain parts to recondition it. The altenative is for me to buy a new one on RHD for over $1100 but am really hoping for a cheaper alternative. If anyone has any recommendation or advice it would be greaty appreciated. Thanks
  7. Sounds like custom is the way to go? Did you guys put a flex in the custom pipes? Thanks
  8. Hi, Just need some advice please. I am currently in the process of fitting HPI 3" dump pipes to my GTR R32 and am worried about my Y Pipe not having a Flex joint in it. Would this cause my dump pipes to crack? Also I noticed there are a lot of Y pipes or mid mid pipes on the market but all are twin 2.5" or 2.75" into 3" or just over. Are their any Y pipes which are 3" all round as I would think that 3" inch dump pipes would go best with a twin 3" y pipe? All advice is much appreciated! Thanks guys!
