  1. Does anyone know if you can run the standard intercooler pipes with the rb25 low mount setup Also with the low mount/external gate setup, where abouts does the external gate usually go Mike.
  2. Thanks for all of your input guys. Im running a GT35R with a .82 Ex Housing. I am using a Tial 44mm Wastegate. I am definately going to be putting bigger exhaust valves in it. How big should i go and where can i get them? Also, how much power would i be able to get out of the standard camshafts before id need to upgrade. I was expecting to have to lower the comp because of the big boost that i will be running. If i wanted to keep the comp at 9:1, what combo of pistons and head gasket would i have to run. Im also contemplating whether to go metal head gasket or o-ring the block and use the oem nissan one.
  3. How much would you have to deck the head and block to get it close enough to standard comp with a 1.2mm head gasket. Also, would i be better off aiming for around 8.5:1 or 9:1 comp ratio? Thanks, Mike.
  4. Hey, im currently building an rb25 and i was wondering what compression ratio i would have if I'm running CP pistons that give 8.5:1 compression ratio and use a tomei 1.2mm head gasket. The tomei website says that by using the 1.2mm headgasket, it drops an rb25's comp ratio to 8.6:1. I have been searching and i couldn't find a proper answer. Any help would be appreciated. Mike.
  5. I sent a heap of photo's to the email today.
  6. JJR Full Exhaust (includes dump/front, stainless cat and cat back) $899 PFC $ 1250 Trust Intercooler Kit $664 Turbotech Boost Controller $30 PFC Tune ~$400 Total $3243 (Just a little bit over) OR you could cancel out the power fc and get yourself some nice shocks, spring and swaybars. BUT if i were you and you were never going to go any further with engine mods I wouldnt worry too much about a pfc because i dont think the power gains will be huge. You will probably gain about 20kw and a better power curve but i dont think it will be a huge difference in noticeable power. You will get much more enjoyment out of a few good suspension mods.
  7. Hey russ, ill make the next one for sure. I was just sorting a few things out with my car. How did you go? Mike.
  8. Hey everyone thanks heaps for all of the replies. Ive got the epa on the 28th of May i think. So i just gotta organise this stuff before then. Will PM people who have offered stuff. Thanks again, Mike.
  9. Hey guys, just wondering if anyone is able to lend me a standard exhaust and standard boost solenoid. will only need it for a day or so. Any help would be appreciated. Mike.
  10. Might be a stupid question, but has your mechanic replaced the fuel filter as this can make the car feel very sliggish if its blocked. If it hasn't been replaced, do it anyways. Mike.
  11. Thats exactly what i was thinking. I thought the job of the ebc was to keep the gate closed until it reaches the boost pressure you want and then open it up. BTW is the eboost2 dual solenoid? Mike.
  12. What boost controller would be best for an external gate? Im looking at the eboost 2, hks evc V and the blitz sbc spec R. Mike.
  13. i doubt it. i should be able to realise if its slipping. it puts the power down in every gear. im thinking its got more to do with it dropping a bit of boost going into 3rd gear. I actually brought the clutch off andrew and he told me it would be fine for 270rwkw. Will probably change cams and get a boost controller for it to see if i can bring the boost on a little earlier. Mike.
  14. The car doesn't feel like it drops off boost between changes, but when i had a screamer pipe on it, i could hear that the gate would be closed for the first instant of 3rd gear. BTW, thanks for the help Mike.
  15. I know what your saying but the car feels very fast to drive. Alot faster than 220kw worth. I posted the dyno sheet to show the power curve. The car would have to have major issues if its running a 35r with 18psi and only putting out 220atw. Could it be cause the car maybe drops of boost through gears? Mike
  16. Im running an exedy cushioned button. I havent had it slip on me yet.
  17. Hey guys, i scanned the dyno readouts so you could see how it makes power. The 260kw run was done on a 38 - 40 degree day, i think thats why its a little lower. I really want to find out why my mph is so low. I was going to put some cams in but maybe i have some sort of other problem which i should fix first. Any help would be appreciated. Mike.
  18. would be pretty odd though if my car only had 230rwkw runing 18psi through a gt35R
  19. Hey, sorry to hijack the thread but ive been wanting to know about my time slip for a long time now. My best time so far has been a 12.54@111mph on MT ET Streets. My 60' was 1.8. How much power does this MPH indicate? The dyno says 270rwkw.
  20. Im not too sure if they are step 1 cams, but im pretty sure its recommended to change the valve springs. The tomei poncams 256/256 8.8mm lift dont require the valve spring change, but its probably better to change them anyone to avoid any valve bouncing issues etc. Mike.
  21. Hey mate, sorry about my comment, when you said "Performance Valve Springs" i thought you were meaning any brand is good. I didnt know there was a brand actually called 'Performance Valve Springs". How do i get into your website, it doesnt seem to be working. Would you be able to PM me a price on the valve springs. Thanks for your help, Mike.
  22. Does anyone have anything constructive to add? Or does anyone know if tomei valve springs will be ok for cams with 9mm lift
  23. Apparently the exhaust valves on RB engines are a bit small when running big boost and it helps this problem a little by having more duration on the exhaust cam. Anyone know anything about which valve springs to use? Mike.
