  1. I dunno if this will work. The file is 1.8mb so I'll post the link to download instead. www.legislation.qld.gov.au/ LEGISLTN/CURRENT/P/PolicePowResA00.pdf
  2. I'll see what I can do

  5. They aren't like your local Autobarn, no disrespect intended. But....think of this guy as a Turbo Engineer. That's what he is. He doesn't just pick new parts of shelves and tell you what his supplier spun to him last week. He can machine housings, grind shafts, balance shafts, rebuild turbos, supply new ones, measure parts...you get the idea. He doesn't offer discount to just everyone though. He gives me discount as I am a mechanic and bring business his way. By offering discount here to everyone, I am creating business for him so he gives me good discount - it's a vicious cycle I know. The only way to get cheaper prices would be through me but you are more than welcome to go on your own behalf if that is what you wish. I am by no means forcing anyone to deal through me, but I am interested in offering great deals to people on the forums. I hope this has all made sense.
  6. My RB20 Hiflow was capable of that horsepower figure. At 17 PSI I put out 218 RWKW. That 300 hp is roughly what they are rated to when hiflowed. It doesn't mean they are not capable of 450hp it just means they usually only last 12 months like that. With your other question, the same turbo I am putting on mine would be a bolt on. It's a ball bearing turbo and rated at 450hp. usually 50hp higher can still be achieved SAFELY though. Plus being a BB turbo it will spool hell quick and will outlast a highflow RB25 turbo anyday, and for roughly the same price maybe a couple hundred more.
  7. My Rb20 hiflow cost me $1200 to convert. Should be about the same. But the 25 highflow is really only capable of 300 engine horsepower safely. This means that if you push it to the max, it won't last very long. You can usually only run around 12-14 psi still safely otherwise they burn out. On the other point, I found this guy a while back and after the other mob stuffed me around I went back to him. I'll find out whose running his gear and get back to you. He's a nice bloke and always good for free information. He doesn't only specialise in passenger vehicles though. He does a lot of industrial and commercial work also so I dare say there are a few trucks running around with his gear on.
  8. There always has to be someone to point out the exception to the rule. I was only stating for education purposes that it has nothing to do with noise levels although above legal DB would still be considered illegal. Just for COL-GTSX I'll say this......Everyone with an oil catch can ignore that part. Everyone else take note. And for your final statement they would say, Here's your ticket, enjoy your day. Trucks and buses fall under different guidlines and I am yet to see a truck with an ATMO BOV. They do have airdraulic braking systems if that is what you are talking about, but this is compressed fresh air that comes nowhere near engine intake air. On another note. an oil catch can DOES NOT catch everything. Ever seen the scummy build up on your throttle body. This is enough. They defect oiled air filters. You blow three pistons at full boost and send 5 litres of oil shooting the reverse way up your inlet manifold and see how much your can catches.
  9. Predator - This offer is valid pretty much until change professions JapTaxi - I'll find out for you tomorrow DangerDave - Yes they do. What did you have in mind? They also have access to state of the art VSR balancing equipment for absolute perfect balancing of shafts.
  10. Most of you have already read this thread so I'll cut to the chase. I can get turbo's. Big one's, little one's, any one's yous all wants. I am able to get almost anything but best prices are from Garrett in the GT range but can get good prices on any other turbos usually. Do your research! Find the turbo you want and then tell me. I will try to help out as much as I can but I cannot choose for you. I cannot supply fitting kits with oil lines etc. but you can get these from another source. Garrett have a whole range of their turbos which are about to be released with the T3 turbine flange so it will be easier to choose after then. Highflows : $1200-$1300 depending on condition add $300 for bigger internals including 360 degree thrust bearing. GT28 (280 HP 0.64 A/R) : $1100 GT28RS (350 HP 0.64, 0.86 A/R) : $1550 GT25/30 : $1900 (still have to confirm upon request) GT25R (500 HP 0.86 A/R) : $1750 GT30R : $1950 GT35R : $2000 GT40R :$2150 GT42R :$2250 T04B : $2200 T04Z (650 HP) : $1950 GT25/40 (700 HP) : $2100 GT35/40R (700hp )1.06 A/R Internal gate : $2000 *Ball Bearing GTR replacement turbos rated at 350hp each : $1350* Please let me know if there are any errors that you can see and feel free to ask any questions. These prices are NOT fitted. This will only put the turbo in your hand, or trailer - depending on how large you go.
  11. ATMO BOV's are only illegal because there is a chance that they can blow out oil fumes from the intake. You DO NOT have to have a plumb back unit. I went down to clark rubber and bought a piece of filter foam....it cost me $1 and used two zip ties to hold it down over the valve opening. This ensures that all air coming from the BOV is filtered. Badda bing 100% legal BOV. If a cop defects you for something, they must give adequate reason to do so and also explain the law behind it. If they cannot prove that the defect is, in fact, legally defective, then they cannot issue it. A formal complaint to the Ombudsman never goes astray. Most of the police in my area know me almost by first name because I get pulled over so many times every week. I don't really care. All it took was about three bonnet pops before I made my very 'pleasant' letter to the ombudsman. After that I still get pulled over just as much, but in a year and a half they have not asked me to pop my bonnet. They know the ar5e reaming is just around the corner if they do. All they do now is pull me up, breathalize, licence check....bye bye. They only do it coz they want to give me the shits. But I be really really really nice to them, it friggin burns them up something cronic. The best approach to take, which I think has already been mentioned, is to get straight out of the car with your licence in hand and say, "how can I help you officer?". Play really really dumb and ask lots of questions. If you get a defect, or he mentions that something is defective, act stupid. Say things like. "I'm sorry, I didn't know that was a defective item. Do you know of any places where I could get that fixed?". Another approach: Say for instance you have a blown bulb. Say that you were unaware that it had blown tonight and that you have it booked in for a service the next day and you will mention it to the Salesman when you bring it to them. This will usually buy you some time. If it is a minor defect. Mention that you were totally unaware that it was defective and you will have it corrected immediately. If it is a major defect. Mention that it had only just been brought to your attention yesterday by another officer and you immediately booked it in to have it repaired by your mechanic. It won't lift the defect but they might let you drive it home. Then PM me with your details and I will vouch for your booking. lol. Don't be affraid of the police but don't talk down to them. I had a policeman talk down to me once and I said, "pay attention, don't EVER speak to me like that again or I'll report you". A short pause followed and we ended up having a pleasant conversation. As long as you let them know that you will help them out in any way you can but also be confidant of yourself and not a smart ar5e. Trust me, I have been pulled over in excess of 100 times.
  12. Work is at Woolloongabba. PM me if you want it done.
  13. Yeah, I gotta see about posting them up somehow. Gimme your email and I can send them to ya. BTW price is staying at $16,000. I am putting a brand new 450hp BB Turbo on it.
  14. No...those voltages are fine. 14.4 v is bordering on overcharge. At idle with no accessories it should be between 13.5 - 14 v With high beam on it should drop roughly 0.05 - 0.15 v With A/c and highbeam on it should drop a further 0.2 v or so. When you hit the accellerator it should recover to just under your idle unloaded voltage. With all accessories on at idle, 13v is ok. If you are reading a voltage of a handset or something of the like, you will find that there will be a difference between the voltage displayed and the actual voltage. They are not terribly accurate but in most cases are within 0.2-0.3v If it drops below 12.8 volts with all accessories on, then replace it. If you have any doubts, take it back to whoever fitted the alternator and ask if they wouldn't mind re-checking it for you. I'm sure they won't mind.
  15. Simple fact is....THE LAW STATES THAT THEY ARE ALLOWED TO SEARCH YOUR CAR, ANYTHING ON IT, IN IT AND ANYONE IN IT. They don't need a warrant. All they need is an excuse to pull you over ie. Random breath test. I can just see it now on the 6 o clock news. Heading - Maximum Rice. A man went to prison today after driving his Import vehicle down the M1 with outrageous modifications. Onlookers said that he had a crazed look in his eye and was screaming the words "I'll get all you cops, you'll see". One witness said "I've never seen a wing that big before". They could even turn it into a mini series - When mods go bad.
  16. What is wrong with it and why are you selling it?
  17. Did anyone else run out of breath?
  18. My girlfriend got the 5hits up coz I told her she would always come second to the skyline. That, coupled with the fact that I have been going out with the skyline for 2 years and her for 3.5 years. I am bad. I didn't mean it though. She thinks I did.
  19. :boohoo: No one loves me
  20. Welcome. I can be helpful sometimes but moreso annoying I think.
  21. On another note, if you absolutely must get a sniffer test. Bring it up to brissy on saturday and I'll do one for ya for free. We knock off work at twelve and I'll be doing some stuff on my brother's car so any time around then. It'll only take about 10 mins and I can even record the values for proof. I can also give you a written pass for the headlights too if you want. You don't need a RWC, just an inspection and report.
  22. I have to full document which describes police powers. It tells you eveything they are and are not allowed to do. Under the automotive section, they are allowed to search your car for just about any reason they want. They can search any part of it or anything in it. And anyone in it. They have to have a valid reason for pulling you over though. But this can be something simple like an RBT and once they have you pulled over they can do whatever they like. It is in the legislation for everyone to read.
  23. The only real guidline for modifying your car is this: Buy a copy of the ADR (Australian Design Rules) for $70 on CD Go to Queensland Transport and get their Modification brochure. Read both from cover to cover twice. It pretty much restricts everything except wheels tyres and crap like that.
  24. I believe it is up to the officer at the time. at 12pm, the M1 isn't exactly packed with cars. The guy deserves everything he gets and then some. The other thing. Everyone winges about them at BWCP. They wouldn't have been checking all vehicles if a Cop car wasn't vandalised the week before. It's the minority that destroy it for the majority. Think about it this way. What if he sped off and the police stopped pursuit. Next time, after all the bragging to his friends, if he is involved in a high speed chase, he will do the exact same thing. It only takes one getaway and he'll think he's untouchable. People like that need to be taken down defore they do some real harm. And I'm sure the police don't have to do those kind of speeds, or even faster to catch up, to catch these people. A little more common sense on their part would not go astray. I friggin hate getting pulled over by f#$khead cops who think they know everything and treat me like I'm some criminal just because I drive that type of car. On a separate note. I was pretty sure it was illegal for them to go over 160km/h in a chase. Well, I had a friend who was a highway patrol cop and all they do is call it in saying the offender was travelling at 160 when in actual fact they were doing 200. The police will do 210 or 220 to catch them but because HQ think the offenders are only doing 160 they authorise the pursuit. The police have to get authorisation before engaging a high speed chase and they take into account all variables before taking action, but they kinda bend the rules when they do it.
  25. Does it sound like an engine rattle or more so from somewhere on the frame/body. Check bodykit mounting points, check indicators are still screwed in properly, check headlights. Rev it from the engine bay. You should be able to get an accurate location this way.
