  1. ...Gone! Car is sold. Thanks to everyone who enquired. Cheers, Mike
  2. Bump! ......going.......going........
  3. Item: 1994 R33 Nissan Skyline GTS25T - 4 Door Location: Adelaide Item Condition: Average/Good Condition, although could be very good with some TLC. I've had this car for 4 1/2 years now and am the second australian owner. Purchased this from a Doctor who had it imported originally. Complianced in mid-2000 making it one of the first 4 door's in the country. Reason for Selling: Bought a Mazda 3 MPS hatchback (needed more carry space for work and a growing family) Price and Payment Conditions: $6,900 ono cash. Priced for a quick, outright sale. Extra Info: Series I RB25DET (good condition - runs fine) - serviced every 10,000k's with Shell Helix Ultra Full Synthetic (new filter every oil change) 5 spd Manual Gunmetal in colour Registered until Jan 2010 Genuine 190,000Kms - - Car was painted about 3yrs ago except for bumpers, side skirts and door handles (a long story!) - New clutch, pressure plate and thrust bearing - New clutch master and slave cylinders - New front brake pads and disks machined - Gearbox has had new main bearings fitted - GReddy Front Mount Intercooler - Microtech LT-12 ECU - GTR Fuel Pump - Splitfire Ignition Coils - Tein Coilovers - 3" cat back exhaust system - 3" turbo dump/front pipe (made by Boostworx) with 3" cat - Side skirts - JVC head unit and speakers - K&N pod filter with silicon inlet pipe from turbo to MAF - 18" genuine Zepter 3piece Mesh Wheels (nice dish) - 4 x RDA grooved rotors (from the group buy) - Kuhmo Ecsta 265x40x18 rears / 245x45x18 fronts (80% tread) TO-DO LIST - Power steering needs new high pressure hose (leaking oil) but still works fine - Developed a kooky electrical problem since gearbox/clutch was done, they must have damaged some electrical wiring somewhere. Whatever they have done, the turbo timer now goes stupid on occasion and its affected the aircond control panel. All electrical was working beautifully before it went in for the gearbox....go figure!! They claim that it's not their problem. - Rubber gasket in the ring that fastens down the fuel pump needs to be replaced (smell petrol fumes sometimes) - Has only ever had a winter tune. Needs a summer tune at some stage - Originally tuned by Shaun at Boostworx. Last tune by Tim Possingham at Tilbrooks Pictures: yes! Contact Details: PM Michael if you'd like more details This has been a great, reliable car. Because it has been my everyday car, the last tune was intended to improve my economy rather than search for more power. Tim knocked it back to about 165rwkw on Tilbrooks dyno and it has been returning a pretty consistent 14L/100Km, not bad for a solid city driver using a Microtech. But it is a winter tune and it could use another map for the warmer weather. The leaner map is definitely not as smooth as the more powerful map it had before but it is certainly cheaper to run. I would call this a "diamond in the rough". It already has most of the fruit you need to get some good HP out of it and it handles well on the Tein/Kuhmo setup, even though a set of slightly softer springs would make it work alot better if going around corners is your thing. If you have the know how to do alot of these repairs yourself, then this will be one of those rare, great bargains. Even if you paid someone (that you TRUST) to do the work for you, it wouldn't take a hell of a lot of money to make a huge difference. I reckon it looks tough with the 18's but doesn't attract the cops whatsoever. It's only lowered to about the legal limit so it's ideal for the street (you won't be scrapping when you drive over humps or spoon drains) or if you prefer, slam it all the way down........the choice is up to you. I think I've said all I need to say, except that the wife has dropped the hammer and said that "it has to go"! I reckon the price I'm asking is damn fair and isn't far off its wrecking value, so be quick if you're interested. IF YOU WANT TO SEE THE VEHICLE IN PERSON, POP OVER TO UNIVERSAL MOTOR AUCTIONS AT 99-105 TORRENS ROAD, BROMPTON. It's booked in to be auctioned on Wednesday, so if you're interested in making a deal beforehend, let me know. Otherwise it's in the lap of the gods on the 25th November!!!
  4. Thanks for helping clear that up. As I said, not fussed as it still looks good and the deal was brilliant. Left you some trader feedback What's this I read about you succumbing to the lure of a GTR! I've also been contemplating a move but it's more likely going to be to a Stagea as I need more cargo space. I've been running around in the 4 door for nearly 4 years now and it's been a great ride but family and work commitments are keeping me out of a GTR for the time being. My time will come........
  5. That would've been me I suspect. Depending what time it was, I would have either been collecting my son in the morning or dropping off him home in the afternoon. Didn't see you at all otherwise would have given a wave. Yeah, guys at Auto Perfection did a great job. I had an emergency call out on the morning I was booked to drop off the car last week. Eventually ended up getting the car in about 10:30am instead of 8:00am when I promised but at least I made the effort to keep them informed about the reasons for my delay. I didn't expect the car to be ready until the end of the day but I received a call just before 1pm to say it was ready!! Very impressed. Just one question Steve, did your car get done with Grey tint or was it more Bronze? My car is the same colour as yours and yet for some strange reason they chose to do mine in Bronze!? Aside from that, couldn't be happier and hopefully customer's IT equipment won't be melting (literally) in the back seat of my car again!! ) Cheers, Mike
  6. Thanks for sorting it out Steve, looking forward to being a few degrees cooler soon. Have a great weekend
  7. Hi Steve, thought it was all OK? I do have entries in the GB thread (the day it finished). You PM'd me about it on 8th January and I sent you the rego details etc as requested. Not a newbie, we've just never crossed paths as yet. We exchanged a couple of PM's about being wedding cars last year but I was away O/S at the time. Cheers
  8. Hey Steve (MADAZ), I finally spotted you for the first time this evening. You were stopped on the Regency Road uptrack at the intersection of Regency & Prospect Roads about 6pm. I was just pulling out of the driveway at work when I saw you. Didn't get a good look at your new tint because I hadn't expected to see you but the car's looking great. I'm getting the windscreen replaced on Saturday, then I'll be booking it in for tinting next week. We'll look like "peas in a pod" soon! Cheers mate.
  9. Howdy Steve, Is it too late to include me in your list? I'm pretty much on the road full time lately and it's hotter than hell in the car on some days. Had hoped that a bit of tint might provide some welcome relief. Let me know what needs to happen from here. Do you need the payment to go through you still or do those of us left have to make the payment direct to Auto Perfection? If you want the payment, could you please PM me the details. Did you say you worked in Beverley? I just live down the road in Flinders Park, could probably drop the money off to you if prefered. Cheers, Mike
  10. I agree. Besides, doesn't the T04E require an external wastegate, hence new manifold.....$$$$ etc?
  11. Howdy R338OY, Even someone with the most basic mechanical logic would be scratching their head at what your mechanic has suggested! You told us that it went in for a basic stud replacement and to resolve a boost leak, however prior to this the car performed well. Now the stud is repaired but the car doesn't "go". All the mechanic can suggest is that if you want it to go again, you have to alter your timing and buy a replacement ECU!????? Here are two suggestions for a start: 1/ NEVER go back to this mechanic. 2/ Let us know what area you live in and someone from the forums could suggest a REAL mechanic in the vicinity that can quickly diagnose your car and get it sorted once and for all. I can't see, based on the repairs you had done, how the problems you were experiencing have anything to do with a fault in your ECU or your timing, otherwise your car would never have driven properly in the first place. Besides, the repairs you had done would have been accomplished without the need to touch either the ECU or timing. The first thing that springs to mind from my limited knowledge together with the explanation you've given, is that there could potentially be a vacuum problem. If this fool has accidentally disconnected/crimped/blocked a vacuum line as a result of his fooling around, it could be messing with your wastegate actuation or the ECU could be responding to a lack of vacuum elsewhere and its interpretation of this could inadvertantly be causing the poor performance. Have someone who knows what they're doing check out all of your vacuum lines first. It could potentially be the quickest, easiest and cheapest fix. If this isn't the problem, then work through the basics as there would be a simple explanation for this and it should be directly related to the repairs that were performed. By fixing the stud, the mechanic may have had to remove the entire manifold, which of course has the turbo and exhaust attached. If he has reassembed this incorrectly or forgotten to reattach something, the car could perform poorly as you would expect. Don't look at anything else until you've checked these BASICS first (vacuum lines, sensor connections, mechanical connections..etc). Hope that this has been of some help. Cheers, Mike
  12. Hi guys, Turned right off Cavan Road onto Montague Road heading toward Main North at about 8:50am this morning. Saw a cop car parked on the side of the road about half way up this section of road. As I got closer, it was plain to see that some car had taken out one of those big street lights. As I went past, I was suprised to see that the car was an silvery grey R34. Couldn't see any plates as the front was caved in and the rear was at an angle where I couldn't see the plates either. Had to keep going as I was running late to pick up my son. Can't tell whether the cops had been chasing it or whether someone just reported the accident. There was no ambulance around and at a glance, it didn't appear to have anyone in it. Sorry I can't give much detail on the car as it was already past it by the time I realised it was a Skyline. Anyone here know the story and whether it was someone off the forum? Cheers, Mike
  13. When I originally purchased my car it dyno'd at 189rwkw and would light up the tyres a little too easily. This was great fun for the first couple of weeks but it was getting ridiculous after that. At the same time I was also suspect of the wheel alignment as there was slight evidence of uneven tyre wear. Decided to get a full 4 wheel alignment done and it transformed the rear end completely. Now you need to make a much bigger effort to break loose the rear tyres on take off. The diff cradle bushes can have a huge effect on this also, can't they? Have you checked to see whether yours are worn or could they have been replaced with aftermarket bushes at some stage which may offer less compliance and a greater tendency to break traction (hence the reason that drifters use them)? These are a couple of cheap things to check and/or change if neccesary which both can have a dramatic effect on your rear end grip. Cheers, Mike
  14. Howdy Guy, I haven't been on the forums for a couple of weeks and was shocked to hear about your unavoidable accident. I'm relieved to hear that you came through it all unscathed. That sort of behaviour on public roads is just plain unacceptable as are people who are too cowardly to fess up to their mistakes. Oh well, whoever it was won't get away with it.... Karma has a way of restoring balance and I'm confident that they will pay for it one way or the other. Good luck with the repairs and I hope it won't set you back too much. Last year someone hit my car while it was parked in the street and just drove off, no note. Even though I was comprehensively covered, paying out that bloody excess ($1100) really hurt at the time. No fair. Cheers, Mike
  15. Hi Matty, that'd be me you saw! They're a customer of ours and I just leaving there when you flashed your number plate at me going sideways down the road!! My car is so grubby at the moment I was suprised you could see the rims at all. They do scrub up nicely though.....18" Zepter Mesh with a bit of dish. I kind of had to do a double take initially because your sig shows the car with silver rims, not the broze jobbies you had on there today. Car looks great by the way. I keep reading that a bunch of you guys work in the area but I never get to see any of you (you're all probably hard at work when I'm in the area). No doubt I'll catch you around..... everyone else seems to! Cheers, Mike
